Sometimes the showers got a little crowded, especially the woman baths. The washing machines and dryers are a little hard to use because they were occupied most of the time,

Good location, very close to public transport. We liked the lounge area where we could make our own coffee and eat breakfast

I wish they would clean up/bring fresh towels at least every other day. Since the room was small, drying the towels was a hassle.

This hotel is great for what it is -a budget stay with a traditional twist. It was new, clean, centrally located, the onsen was lovely and the common areas beautiful. But don't expect any luxury, despite the price - this is Kyoto in high season.

Perfect stay for solo travellers (except for women during their time of the month)

I understand that it is the Japanese culture to have public baths. I wish the showers offer a bit more privacy (not fully frosted glass and no locks). Do not book the place if you're on that time of the month because I had no idea what to do...

The room is spacious and the beds are very comfy. Great location, close to bus and train stations!

Corridor’s carpet is old and stained. Very dirty, maybe asking to take off shoes inside the hotel would be better. This strike me as the rest of the hotel is super clean and has really good ambiance. Also keep in mind that after 11PM you cannot be in the common areas

Really nice place to stay very close to the main station and 2 min away from a metro station, making it super easy to move in Kyoto and surrounding area. The rooms are small but super comfortable and clean. Towels, slippers and lounge wear are provided. The bathrooms are clean and the shower area is great, big and with plenty of products you can use.

Comfortable and modern stay for solo travelers

    • Solo traveller
    • Small Double Room with Shared Bathroom - Non-Smoking

Room was a bit small as the bed took up 2/3rds of the space. Provided pajamas were a bit too small for me. Different sizes would be appreciated.

The hotel was very modern and well designed. The bed was very comfortable. In-room amenities included a toothbrush, toothpaste, pajamas, towels, hairdryer, and bag for taking to the bath area. There was also an area in the lounge with some additional items you could take up to your room if needed including pillows and luggage racks. Really enjoyed the shared bath space but it was a bit on the small side. There are 5 shower stalls and 4 sit down types in the bath space. It was nearly empty when I bathed at 10pm on a Thursday. There is also a wall of different shampoo and conditions you can choose from which was a nice touch.

The room we booked was a bit small, having 4 luggages was not easy, but maybe there are bigger options. The laundry was free, but the dryer was not drying properly anymore, maybe it was overused already. So every after laundry, we needed to walk to the next laundry shop for the dryer, but it wasn't far.

Upon entering the hostel, we were surprised on how clean the lobby was. The check in process is a breeze since they use a machine for it. And the accomodating staff, who helped us regarding our luggage was a big help for me. Even though the toilet and the bath is for common use, it was very clean. And the options of shampoos and conditioner for the women bath was a lot!! I tried each one every time. They also have their own mini coffee bean grinder, which I totally enjoyed using.

    The room was very small.

The laundry and shower facilities were great. They tended to get a little busy in the evening so we used them in the late afternoon when they were extremely quiet. The staff were friendly and quick with check in and check out. Location is also very convinent to the train station if you are getting the trains from Osaka or Tokyo

I think for 2 or 3 days is good! But for more days the room get messy, cause there is not much space for luggage.

The common areas were amazing, considering that the space of the room is small. So we need a place to relax and hace some space. There were plenty of types of teas, coffe, books, sofa. Bathroom always clean. Good location

the lounge closed at 11pm. it will be good if it can stay open till 1am for guest to get some hot drinks or who can't sleep to sit around. The room is too small.

Though the room was small and compact, we managed to get by, considering the value for money. We love the lounge, there was enough space for most guest to have their own meals and privacy. there's an impressive range of coffee and tea, really enjoyed the whole experience. there's plates, bowls and cutlery- its non-disposable ones, thumbs up for being sustainable. love that they provided a toaster, most usually provide a microwave ovens. lots of local magazines to browse thru. the bath and laundry were great too. oh! they even provided umbrellas when it rained for hotel guest usage without deposit.

There was no food that we saw but my boyfriend said he saw them baking at one point. It wasn't clear. There was beer and liquor you can buy with the coins you purchase through them though.

I liked the location next to the station and the public baths were great after a long day of wandering. They have coffee and tea for free which was nice to have in the main area while waiting for laundry.

The showers, bath and toilets are all communal, which while adding to the homely feel the owners were going for, could be somewhat troublesome at times. Also the rooms are only cleaned every 4 days which could be inconvenient for long stays.

Very nicely situated a short walk from the Kyoto station, but still well tucked-in enough to not feel overly crowded during rush hours. The staff are very nice and there are plenty of amenities and and board games which can be rented during your stay.
