Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAmazing place to stay – close train ride to Kamakura & walking distance to Enoshima. The studio apartment is stocked with all you need: bathroom amenities, kitchen supplies, laundry machine, etc. The best part of our stay was the front-row seat view of the Enoden. My son loves trains and fell in love at first sight with the Enoden. We spent most of our vacation looking out the window at the train going by every few minutes. We stayed at a hotel in downtown Kamakura the day before but would have rather stayed here both nights – much more spacious (we were 2 adults + child and had plenty of space to move around), comfortable, and welcoming (e.g., children's book, yogurt & water, etc). The host was very gracious, accommodating, and responsive. Highly recommend and hope to visit again!

ChinaThere are only sheer curtains in the room. The brightness is still pretty high with the curtains closing. The tram runs right below the flat, and a lot of noise during the day.
Very good location. The room is cosy and clean. The facility in the room is fantastic and works all well. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She speaks very good English and gave a detailed introduction for the room during the check-in.

United StatesThe room was a little rough in some spots in terms of cleanliness. Nothing crazy, but some surfaces, nooks, and crannies haven't had attention in a long time and there was hair, grime, and even an old toothbrush in between the sink the washer. The shower, toilet, and bed were all very clean though, and that's what matters most. Also be aware that the Enoden runs right next to the hotel, which didn't both me (I actually enjoy the sound of the train running by), but it might bother some people.
The location was awesome, and the room was spacious! The bed was really comfortable, and the yogurt in the fridge was a kind addition. I also loved the "How to Make a Mud Pie" artbook on the wall, so cute. The building itself is really lovely, and felt modern and safe.

Our stay here was just amazing in many ways! Firstly the apartment is clean, stylish and quite spacious. The apartment contained everything we needed, even supplying things like cotton earbuds, body thermometer, cooking oils and seasoning! We asked Naoko san if we could borrow body scales to weigh our suitcases and she even supplied hand held bag scales! Naoko san was just amazingly helpful. I injured my foot just before check-out and just before heading to the airport to leave Japan. I couldn't walk so this caused quite a debacle in the last minute! She even extended our super late check-out to allow us to work out what to do, brought me bandages and called up 5 different taxi companies to get us a good deal on a taxi big enough for our family! We wouldn't have made it to the airport in time for our flight if it wasn't for her! We are so very grateful! Thank you so much Naoko san!

United StatesIt's a bit close to the train, which you can hear starting around 5am if you are a light sleeper. Not a nearby grocery store, so you'll have to pick things up in Fujisawa. Plan ahead, and you'll be fine!
Second stay at this property. Was just as excellent as the first time! I will be back.

United StatesClose to a local train to start your commute to Yokohama or Tokyo (though Tokyo is probably 1.5 hours). Great room. Small town vibe. Great host who was very helpful. Comfortable bed.

JapanIt would have been even better if there was a bit more space around the washing basin to place toiletries and clothing.
Well furnished room with a lovely river view. The host is kind and helpful. The bar downstairs is cosy and serves great Japanese natural wines that are difficult to source. There are also restaurants within walking distance. It was a lovely surprise to find a bit of fruit and yoghurt in the fridge!

The aesthetics. The view out the window and how near it is from the train station. & The fact that they were able to accomodate our request to check out a bit later than the original check out time.

JapanThe shower took a very long time to warm up. For people who care, there is no television, but we did not mind.
The property is an excellent location for Enoshima and Kamakura, but away from the tourist hubbub in a quiet neighborhood. The yakitori restaurant next door and the wine bar in the facility both serve delicious food. There's a wonderful coffee shop minutes away. The studio was comfortable, elegantly furnished and decorated. The staff was excellent and helpful.
