I will admit I was unsure about the hotel when we pulled up. But don't let the outside fool you, it is beautiful inside and the view from our room was gorgeous. Loved opening the window to hear the waves.

The staff were welcoming when we arrived and clearly explained all the amenities and how to use them. The cleaning staff also left a cute note in our room. Having access to the onsen and great food was perfect after a day of hiking and exploring. The clear winner for our stay was the food and onsen. The breakfast buffet and kaiseki meal at supper were amazing!

However the Shuttle didnt really work for specific times and the breakfast / dinner was rather stressful because it was only available for a short period of time.

The choices of food were a bit difficult for us. Even the “western” breakfast could improve. Unfortunately, the beach was a bit dirty. I told them and they have someone come a clean every 2 weeks but is not enough, they should have someone check the beach every day or couple of days. Specially if you are in an ocean front room, it’s sad to see trash.

The room is modern, great ocean view with a big balcony, lost of privacy and the bathtub with ocean view is amazing! The hotel is very nice and the staff did their best to help and answer all our questions. We took a private tour to the famous Moss Forests and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide! She was super knowledgeable and went out of her way to make our hike an unforgettable experience (Mish Higashi). We where able to rent all the hiking gear that we needed for our tour.

Don’t go here for a ‘sea’ experience. The new accommodation built for the more expensive rooms very much takes away from it.

The location for hiking and distance from the airport is great. The onsen is very comfortable too.

The hotel is currently under reform, I am looking forward to its new interior design but you can tell it is just halfway through it at the moment, and the room is huge but lacks furniture, it would be nice to have a sofa or such. Breakfast is ok, and the dinner plan is average, I don't think it is worth the price, choose the buffet for dinner, you won't regret it.

I think the location of this hotel is absolutely amazing, it is on a cliff where you can see the ocean from the room! that is the part I really like, it is also very close to the port like a 5-minute walk, and a supermarket nearby, a very convenient location to start your journey on this island. you can book the tour group directly from the front desk and they even have hiking equipment for rental, so you can find everything you need here.

We stayed in the Umisora wing of the hotel. The rooms were newly renovated, up to date, and very comfortable and the hotel was more luxe than we had expected. Handy location when arriving on the ferry. Staff was prompt and helpful. We enjoyed the public bath after a day of hiking and sight seeing.

I think the premium to pay just for the room is too much. I stayed in the Japanese room for this stay too and the room though older is very spacious but is 50% cheaper. All facilities and breakfast being equal.

Besides the lobby and cafe area, the hotel is quite dated. However, this is not a bad thing - everything is clean and maintained.

Great location with sea view and close to the ferry port, shops, nice izakayas. We got a very comfortable and spatious room with all facilities and ammenities taken care of. Staff was very kind and helpful.

The only issue I had was considering the size of the hotel and that it seemed to be almost full that they didn't offer a walk-in restaurant. You had to place your dining options the day prior. So the day I arrived, I've had to eat outside of the hotel, and I was confronted with another situation where the day I was supposed to catch the ferry back to Kagoshima all ferry services were cancelled due to the weather, so I was able to book another night but wasn't allowed to make a dinner reservation. So once again, I had to eat out. I feel that there ought to be a bit more flexible if they want to attract more international clients.

The hotel was close to the ferry terminal, and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous, and most had a good command of English. As I arrived a little early, they took my luggage, and I went for a walk. When I returned, they had taken my luggage to my room. I had an ocean view room, which I found very spacious and comfortable. The hotel had an onsen, which I wasn't expecting, so that was a bonus. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, with both Japanese and Western cuisine. The township is about 1.3 klm in length and offers quite a few restaurants. The hotel is only about a 7 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop, car, bicycle, or scooter rentals.

To have more openings in your dining room for dinner. We were not able to eat there during our stay. It was difficult to go out for dinner as there are no taxis .

The location was beautiful. The room was exceptional. Great to have an onsen. The staff was amazing so accommodating & helpful. The tour of the island that the front desk booked for us was more wonderful than we ever expected. Thank you.
