Hong KongI opted for "pay later" when I booked on the APP but was charged right after booking. When I called the assistant asked if I had captured the screen to prove. It's rediculous! I asked the supervisor to handle the case and he just replied rudely that it was the request of the hotel to pay and hung up. I sent an email to ask the hotel and the reply was not. It was Booking.com to charge me. It is a dishonest deed and I feel much diasppointed!
The friendly and helpful staff. They showed us the way to park our cars and allowed us to store our luggage for an extra night even though we did not stay at their hotel.

AustraliaIt’s not a Dislike so much.. we were comfortable with using the separate, clean guest toilets and managed a quick onsen in the evening. I know some Western guests would struggle with this, particularly as this onsen is very small! But the water was soft and lovely before bed. There was a steady stream of guests using it in the evening. There is no other option for bathing and the basin in the room only has a cold tap. Make the effort to have an onsen as it is worth it.
This guesthouse is literally next to the station. The owners are really friendly and did their best to answer my English questions before we arrived, despite their lack of English. The food provided was so good and they accommodated my request for no seafood for me. The room had a nice outlook onto the pretty town centre and the futons were already made up for us on arrival. We felt very welcome.

AustraliaThe only showers are the ones in the onsen areas. We were fine with this but it may be off putting for some.
The proprietors were kind and friendly, letting us into our room early. The room was japanese in style. Clean with a shared toilet & small onsen. Although there is no fridge in the room, there is a large communal fridge to store any items. The location for the start of the tateyama kurobe alpine route was the reason for our stay as being across the road, it was convenient to line up early for (on the ) day tickets and cable car reservation during a very busy opening week of the alpine route. We chose to have our dinner included as there are not many choices in this small hamlet. We enjoyed a nice kaiseki meal. There is a small convenience store nearby that closes early. Although the onsens were small (1male, 1 female) they made my skin feel wonderful. I was able to find a time to use the onsen, when i was the only one in, otherwise it would have felt crowded.

SingaporeI think the shared showering area may be uncomfortable to some. I think you might need time to get used to showering with other people nude, but people are often polite and nice about it. You don't feel as awkward as you think. You also will need to use a shared toilet, but this was no problem at all as the toilet is extremely clean and spotless. If you're not Japanese, you might not be used to sleeping on a futon. In my opinion it was extremely comfortable as I prefer harder beds.
This was just a one minute walk to the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route Cable Car as well as Tateyama Station. Aside from its proximity, the best part of Senjuso was the hospitality of the host. This is a family-run establishment, so when you enter the place, it feels like a family welcoming you home. It feels like you're coming back to a house as opposed to a hotel. The grandma there would wait for you to return from your trips to the mountain and would warmly greet you 'Okaeri' or welcome back when you're back. Aside from that, the food prepared by the grandma was excellent. The spread was always complete, with rice, green tea, soup, many many side dishes, as well as dessert and fruits. I felt that my food and diet was very well-taken care of and considered. Plus, I had the best sleep here partly due to the cool mountain air as well as the tranquil of the place. This ryokan also has an onsen pool inside the showering space, and to be honest, the water here was a lot better than the public onsens you will visit. One dip in the water in the morning was enough to soothe and relax my whole body. It was really quite magical. For this reason, I would recommend Senjuso, especially given the affordable price for the stay. I went to many different hotels in Japan but this was my favourite.
