Small detail: the lights at the outside bath didn't go off, so no night sky or view at the ocean at night due to light pollution. I think the timer switch is broken.

The location is great. Open baths, the whole Ryokan experience with food and futon. This was our first Ryokan experience where we actually slept, and could get very used to this.

Clean and well maintained. Staff are cheerful, attentive and professional. Overlooking the sea with nice sea views, the shining stars at night making our stays so relaxing . Food is delicious ( both breakfast and dinne) . Onsen is great and soothing. Overall, it’s value for money !

It is a very worn out hotel, it needs a renovation. The futon and the pillow wasnt very comfortable. Also it was very expensive despite the off-season.

I think this hotel stands out for its food. I stayed half board and the kaiseki style meals were great not only in their presentation but also taste. Staff was friendly also. The onsen facilities are small but nice. Especially the one at the top with rocks. I dont like the plastic onsen bath. The room had nice view and was very clean. I really also appreciated the very silent AC.

Parts of the building have certainly seen better days, but the upkeep and hospitality definitely make up for that.

We loved the space, the large rooms, the excellent food, the beach access with storage space for surfing gear, the onsen and the beautiful ocean views. Super friendly staff! I had an accident on the last day and they’re extremely helpful in arranging our trip to the local hospital and were very flexible about our checkout time.

The facilities are little old, but that is totally acceptable for me. Nothing big to complain about.

Amazing location. Helpful staff. Magical food. It was really worth the money. I guess the hotel is trying to lower cost, by making many options as paid extra, and that is great. The fantastic thing is that you can use pool and spa even after checkout. Thank you!

The price seems a bit expensive for one night, and they didn't have menus to order in the room so I had to wake about 20 minutes to go to the nearest restaurant. Location is incredible for the view, but the convenience store and restaurants are way too far away, and also we had to make our own bed, which was tad annoying.

Incredible view, with amazing private Onsen. The room is spacious, and it has really nice features like glass pane shower rooms and balcony. The staff was really friendly and nice, with really great services.

Lack of elevator to onsen rooftop floor.

Somewhat older property but in a stunning location and well-maintained. One negative, - access to the onsen lacks elevators and requires climbing stairs. The onsen itself is again a little dated but the location and views of the beach more than makes up for this. Our room service was superb - everything one can wish for in a onsen-ryokan experience. There is a free shuttle service to the Shimoda train station.

Everything from the moment you enter this resort is filled with class and luxury. The view is incredible, the baths are perfectly hot, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the sound of the sea gently crashing into the shore is ever present. This is an amazing experience, once I cannot recommend enough.

Moisture smell especially in 1F. Toilet incredibly stinky Room is dusty Uncomfortable Futon Access to the beach (from the hotel) closed at 18:00 The swimming pool was full of dead insects on the 1st day (no daily maintenance) No continental, french, buffet for breakfast, only Japanese breakfast with defined time. (It was a good food experience though)= not convenient sometimes

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The japanese room is perfect with beachfront view on the balcony. The wifi is fast. The beach is awesome for swimming with my kids. Everything is awesome.
