Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe room had a slight smell to it, the coffee was not very good (both the brewed coffee at breakfast and the espresso)
Good overall vibe, good location - central but next to a quiet park, close to everything you need, good restaurant, good laundry facilities, very good staff.

NetherlandsThe only thing really is that the pillows were uncomfortable and the bed was ok. Also the room is quite warm, although we did not look for air-conditioning in the room, mainly because we do not prefer that.
The staff, the More Than Bakery (soo much more and one of the best I have seen while travelling, try the delicious Quiche) and Grill/ Bar underneath (all three Ceviches were absolutely delicious), the prime Location near a beautiful park and walking distance from Shinyuku Station. Also communication was swift and clear. The slippers, bathrobes and all other freebies were lovely. Shower had sufficient temperature reach, power and volume, all be it inside a bath tub.

CanadaIf you want additional room you should upgrade to a larger room. We knew our room was going to be small and it worked for us but if you want to be able to have your luggage out I would upgrade.
This hotel is in an ideal location, it’s far enough away to get away from the commotion but close enough to get to it when you want to. It is situated in a quiet community with several restaurants and stores close by. The bakery inside the hotel has some really great items try it out. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room and hotel were clean. There is a lounging area on the main floor and the second floor.

United KingdomGreat location for our week in Tokyo. Easy walk to both Nishinjuku and main Shinjuku stations allowing us to get to almost everywhere we wanted by train. Very hip hotel aesthetic. Queen sized room was adequate for my wife and 8 month old son, but still on the small size considering we had brought very little baggage. Staff very helpful with various requests and the popular bakery attached makes for a good breakfast to change up the usual Japanese fare.

IsraelThe room has no wardrobe. We had to change out of our suitecases. The bathroom is a small different room, like in-planted into the hotel room and we had to climb a high step in and out, which became very dangerous during visiting it, and especaially during night visits (we are in our 70th).

AustraliaThe room was smaller and less comfortable than I would have liked; couldn't easily open two suitcases at once, for example, and the bed was harder than I like, without enough pillows; those supplied were too small and soft. The bathroom was functional, but my knees didn't like the step up into it, particularly at night when all around was dark. Not enough USB ports, which are essential items for modern travellers.
The location suited us well for a short 3-day stay, when we only wanted to see Yoyogi Park, the Meiji shrine, the Scramble intersection and Takeshita street. Breakfast was terrific, with a very comprehensive range of delicious food types.

Excellent location. Bar and restaurant were very nice. Rooms are REALLY small; but, clean and quiet. My AC didn’t work. But, I was able to open a window for fresh air in the evening.

United StatesThe room was definitely small for two people's luggage, but we managed. If you are an organized packer you will have no problems. There was a bad smell coming from the drains in our bathroom - it looked like they might have been doing underground work in the street in front of the hotel though, so I don't think that was their fault.
Loved the breakfast buffet! Fresh food and drinks every morning. Coffee, juice and tea were included in the buffet and you could purchase other drinks from the bar. The hotel was in a perfect location and was very clean and quiet. The hotel is a short walk from several train stations.

United KingdomNothing.
The hotel is a 10-12 minute walk from Shinjuku station, in a nice leafy neighbourhood. There's a great park opposite. A taxi from Shinjuku station is about 900yen. It has a great bakery and bar downstairs, helpful staff, 3 fast lifts and a great area on the second floor to eat and drink. The rooms were pretty spacious with a desk and chair. Check in was easy and they sorted out a taxi to the airport in the early hours which was on time and reliable. Overall, great and felt like a somewhat peaceful retreat after a busy day in Tokyo.

United KingdomThere wasn't much else in the immediate vicinity of the hotel apart from a lovely park opposite. About 5 minute walk to nearest metro or 20 minute walk to the heart of Shinjuku.
Brilliant public spaces, including amazing bakery downstairs, a buzzing bar and eatery, and a great grill restaurant. The hotel was clearly popular with locals too who were queueing for the buffet lunch, which is always a good sign.

New ZealandI would have expected a better view for the price we paid - which was a lot. We were on a low floor overlooking a carpark. The hotel is tall and faces the Govt building, so some of the rooms must have great views. More feedback for the hotel - in the 20m2 room there would be space behind the door for an open wardrobe. Storage space. This space is not utilised at all.
The location is great although it is 20-minute walk to Shinjuku station we found this area way better than our other hotel in Akihabara. We got a taxi a few times to the hotel from the station after a long day of walking. Make sure you go up the Metropolitan Government Building which is very close by. There is a free viewing floor. We went to sunset and also went to the light show on the building started at 7pm. 20m2 The room was spacish, and the little table was great. There is a family mart 2 mins away which was handy. We were travelling as a family of 5. We paid for two rooms, with twin beds and 20m2 so we had more space. We pushed the twin beds together for three kids. The room was a good size but we paid extra for two twin rooms for our family of 5, we pushed the twin beds together to make one big bed.
