Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere is only 1 room key for double/ twin room. Not convenient for 2 residents having different schedule. The internet service is weak, the facilities are really old. The bathroom ceiling with water dripping down.
The hotel provided free breakfast with varieties of bread and soup. Free 24 hour drink bar is good.

IndonesiaThe distance to the JR Shizuoka station was moderate (around 5~10 minutes walk). The location is near the night-life part of Shizuoka, so it might seem scary if you travel by yourself. Other than that, no complaint at all.
Room was comfortable, bathroom was clean, and the Wi-Fi works fine. There was a free breakfast service, which was nice for the amount of money we paid. There's also a water dispenser on the lobby for free.

CanadaThe street this hotel is on seemed a little more spicy than the surrounding area but the hotel seemed safe and was very nice. We went to two places for dinner. The first did not serve us (the man behind the counter looked at us several times but didn’t come to the takeout window despite making eye contact). The second charged us more than the menu stated. We didn’t argue but paid and won’t be going back. Not a reflection on the hotel per se but the neighbourhood.
The hotel was lovely. A nice clean room and quiet for sleeping. We liked having the breakfast included and the clientele seemed business oriented.

GuadeloupeI did note feel good hère, thé carpet in thé room was black with dirt, thé furniture peeling, thé walls with marks... and thé view from thé window on the air conditioners and concrete rooftops and thé small shabby room i found depressing and opressing, i did not appreciate thé breakfast.so i left After one night instead of staying for two. I did not feel good in Shizuoka , nobody speaks English , i gave UP trying to eat out in thé evening, or thé restaurant was full, or it was too complicated with thé menu only in Japanese. It was impersonnel and dirtier than thé rest of Japan, but teeming with life.
You have everything you need, and thé staff are polite and helpful.

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi did not work on my laptop (though it did on my phone). The Wi-Fi was also totally unsecured. The room was cramped and became unbearably hot at night. The aircon was either "off" or "warm" with no option for "cold". Opening the window didn't help as it exposed you to either the vents of the nearby restaurants (so the room stank of food) or the loud screaming at the local drinking establishments (and seedier venues) at all hours of the night (including 6.30am). The bed was as hard as diamond and the pillows were either made of rocks or marshmallows. The laundry was outside, cramped, and in the smoking area (hardly a sensible idea). Protip: You DO have to pay for detergent at the front counter. One of the staff had absolutely no clue how to do her job and was unable to provide me with (a) alternative pillows or (b) an answer as to the above detergent question. Only asking another staff member provided me with the correct answers.
The location can't be faulted, it's only a short walk from Shizuoka station if you take the underground route. I quite liked the complimentary breakfast snacks and more importantly, the drinks dispenser on the evening. There was a small rotary clothes airer in the room which was appreciated. The toilet paper wasn't almost two-dimensional, which is a rarity for Japan.

JapanI don't really mind, but the breakfast was lacking. There were hardly any options, though it was nice that it was free. Also, the sink in my bathroom was hard to turn off fully and tended to drip.
