Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaKaseki breakfast and dinner has lots of food and beautiful presentation, however, appetizers not tasty and soup too salty.
Beautiful property, comfortable room, free dessert in lounge room. There are also free beer and midnight meal that we didn’t try.

ThailandThere was absolutely nothing that we did not like.
Everything was great, from the room, room size, onsen, food, lounge, and price. The room is spacious compared to many other japanese style room elsewhere and it's also very clean and comfortable. We had the half-board booking and both the dinner and breskfast were extraordinary. Both were kaiseki course meal with all kinds of food locally produced. We had more than enough food. Since we were traveling in a group of a few couples, we found the lounge area and the lounge snacks and drinks to be perfect to accommodate groups. There were honey tasting, beers, and after dinner snacks which were a perfect setting to just chill and hangout. Lastly, the hotel offer shuttle bus back to sapporo in the morning. The location is also good as it is a short walk to the Jozankei small town and to the bus stop.

SingaporeWe arrived early, about 1pm, and it was snowing, and we couldn't locate the entrance of the hotel. It was not like a proper sheltered drop off point, no sign whatsoever, and parking was also not clear. In the end, I had to get down from the car to go through some doors before I located the lobby and confirm it is the right place. If you have heavy wheeled luggage, do unload at the front doors before parking, as there are some steps from the outdoor parking to the lobby. They were very very strict on the check-in time, and we were not allowed to even wait in the lounge. The staff seem to speak minimal English, didn't seem friendly, so my initial check-in experience was not very pleasant. I guess its because it is very popular with locals. It seem like 90% were Japanese. But overall, was really blown away by the facilities and food.
This is a very traditional onsen resort hotel with modern comforts. Facilities and food are excellent. Highly suggest you book with dinner and breakfast. I didn't book dinner and went to a nice genghis khan bbq about 10 min walk away (information on recommended place to eat is available in tablet in the room). It would be nice to be able to relax and have dinner there without going out, coz' there are specials at the lounge almost hourly after check in, like free-flow beer, honey buffet, soba, etc.... Also, having had the excellent breakfast, which is a luxurious set plus side buffet (very unlike other Jap hotels) ... I think the dinner must be good too. I tried to pay to add on dinner at checkin, but was told it was not possible to add on on-site as it as to be pre-booked. I didn't understand until I had the breakfast. Each set is intricately prepared, everything was fresh and tasty... Will definitely go back again, and will book the dinner next time. Very good for a relaxing 1-night stay. Kokusai ski field is just 40-minutes drive away en-route to Sapporo/ Otaru from Jozankei, so you can check out early in the morning, get in a full day skiing/snowboarding, then drive on to Sapporo/ Otaru.

SingaporeThe room was very warm. It isn’t winter n not allowed to open the window. Had to bring in air cooler just to cool the room. But it doesn’t cool the room entirely. We had to blow it directly towards us to sleep without perspiring the entire night. They should still have the air con running.
Beautiful spacious room. Onsen. Lovely view. Enjoyed the dinners.

Hong KongThere is not much I can complaint about.
Is has been eight years since we last visited the hotel. They sure did a marvelous job revamping the hotel. The look is now modern, chic and minimal in style. They now offer shuttle bus service from Sapporo JR station to the hotel and vice versa but you need to book in advance. The food is excellent, so is the hot bath springs.
