Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaThe room is very small for 3 people (2 adults and 1 toddler) but I guess that's the Japanese hotel standard. We only stayed for 1 night so it was still bearable, but I wouldn't recommend it for families. It's more suitable for solo travelers orc couples.
Prime location, only 5-10 minutes from Fujisawa Station. Surrounded by restaurants, fast food chains, convenience stores, and Don Quixote. Seven Eleven is right under the hotel. Helpful and friendly staffs. Amenities such as night gowns, hair brushes, teeth brushes are provided in the lobby.

United StatesAs other people have stated, and I agree, the Breakfast had a good selection of both Japanese and Western foods. Great that there was a 7/11 convenience open 24/7 on the ground floor, as well as a Family restaurant on the 2nd floor that proofed to be beneficial for the evenings/lunch time that we were too tired to go far to find food. The EnoDen (Enoshima Electric Train) station was so close and fun to ride to Enoshima or Kamakura and everything else between. A great place to stay considering the price and location.

AustraliaBreakfast was not great. Because of hotel location it was surrounded by food outlets of various kinds, so great choice available within metres of the hotel Hotel restaurant on level 2 was underwhelming. Sooo handy to train station.

SingaporeThe staff especially the guy on Friday 1 march night shift should be more accommodating. Yes I did loose the hotel card key, I am always willing to pay for the lost card but he just start showing his unhappy face and putting the cashier roughly into the drawer like he is throwing the box in.
Location is great, about 5 mins from Fujisawa station. There is a lot of food around the hotel. There is a 7-11 connecting to the hotel, you just need to get to level 1 and there is a door to 7-11

Hong KongThe checkout time was a bit too early. Nearly no allowance for late check out.
The location was excellent. It was just 5 mins away from Fujisawa station. Everything was clean and tidy, except the space of the room was a bit small but more than acceptable. Good breakfast choice.

CanadaA lot of the amenities were only available near the front desk, instead of inside the room. It felt a bit awkward to pick things up and then go back to our rooms.
The hotel was just what we needed - a convenient location close to the train station for one night. We were between day trips and location was the biggest factor in our hotel choice. We also really liked how spacious our room was.

IndiaI really shouldn't complain that the rooms were small because that's the case in almost all 3 star hotels in Japan. Very limited amenities kept at the reception for you to select from, they could keep some more like mouth wash and loofah. The water pressure in the wash basin tap was a little low however the shower pressure was too high.
Went in a summer weekday so room was heavily discounted. Room had all the basics for a 1 night stay. Very friendly staff who agreed to keep my baggage for free well before the check in time. Combini on 1F and Gusto on 2F was really convenient.

I was lucky to be put on one of the top floors, so I got to see Mt. Fuji which was great. Given the location, it also helped that no noise from the streets came up to the room and it was rather quiet. The room was on the smaller side, but since I did not spend much time in the room it was fine for 2 nights. Bathtub is spacious and the room had all the necessary amenities for a short stay. Easy to reach from Fujisawa station (JR line, connecting back to Tokyo without having to change). Bit more of a trek when wanting to explore Kamakura, but there are bus stops close by that take you into that direction. On one of the days, it was raining heavily, and the hotel staff was so nice to lend me an umbrella for the day (I think they were more surprised I actually returned it at the end after check out).
