The room is big and the location is great. It's about 15-20 min walk to Takachiho Gorge. Wide selections of breakfast and they are all delicious. One staff also helped us to book the restaurant for our dinner and suggest the nice one for us.

Restaurant has to close by 8.50 pm and perhaps could extend to 9.30 pm instead as driving to the hotel can be quiet a challenge for first timers especially at night.

Perhaps the hotel breakfast could include some fresh fruits.

We appreciated everything about this hotel - from the sleek contemporary decor to the comfortable rooms to the superb on-site restaurant. The hotel was so gorgeous architecturally, it was like staying in an art museum designed by a famed architect. The on-site restaurant served one of the best meals we had on our trip - a light, clean hotpot of vegetables and meat, and it was super value-for-money. The breakfast buffet was very good too. Very nice and quiet, and a five-minute drive to Takachiho Gorge. We were unable to book a large room for three people and booked two rooms instead, and the hotel gave us rooms side by side. Very helpful.

Staff seemed a bit complicated at times - when checking in the receptionist gave us a map of the area including the nice walks in the gorge, however failing to mention that 90% of the walks were closed due to a typhoon that hit in September, which left us very disappointed. And breakfast was also a bit "unorganized", normally it's served until 9:30 with last orders at 9am, but when we arrived at 8:30 we weren't allowed in because all tables were occupied, so we were sent back to our room only to be called 2min later and told that there is free seating now.

Very nice hotel in the center of Takachiho, roughly a 15min walk from the Gorge and a 5min walk from the shrine. Very (!) comfortable bed and huge (!) rooms, amazing shower and bathtub - honestly, the room was next-level and one of the nicest on our Japan trip. Hotel staff also made a reservation for us in our chosen Izakaya, which was very nice!

It is a small town. Not many places for dinner. We tried to book the dinner with hotel; but they are fully booked. The hotel receptionist tried to find a place for us. He called a few places; finally find one that is available. There is a restaurant close to the hotel serves good steak; but it was closed when we were there.

It is a newer hotel in the small town near Takachiho Gorge. Because of the central location, we were able to go to Kunimigaoka Viewing Platform for sunrise in the early morning. It is only 5 mins drive from Takachiho Gorge. We arrived at the Gorge before most visitor and enjoyed the scenery. Breakfast is tasty with food variety.

Good stop over if you are visiting Takachiho. All the staff was so nice, attentive and accommodating. Overall, our stay was pleasant.
