SwitzerlandThe walk from the airport limusine busstop is duable but it would be nice if there was a pedestrian walkway along the main road.
The view from the balcony was very nice, and the women outdoor Onsenin is nestled in the middle of the forest right next to a small river. Very relaxing. The beautiful Tadewara Wetlands are in walking distance, and there are a lot of hiking trails nearby.

GermanyI didn't like the musty smell in the room (maybe mould?). Would have been nice to have ustensils and plates in the kitchen.
Big apartment, it has a main room with beds, couch, table and a small kitchen and it has a second room Japanese style with tatami. From the windows there is view to the forest. The outdoor onsen has a beautifull location in the forest. Breakfast is buffet with Japanese food. The kitchen has a small stove, refrigerator and a water kettle. There are no pots, pans, plates and cuttlery.

the hotel is like a little villa/apartment. in a quiet scenic location. you will need a car to reach the place. there are 4 of us & we had 2 apartments. could have just taken one apartment. it would be a great place for a BBQ camping place.

Our apartment had a 2 sgl beds in a room, another room with tatami, a living room with a small kitchenette and the view of the mountains. Nothing more I could ask for. There's an indoor onsen and an outdoor one, and both are good. We had sukiyaki served in our apartment, a bit pricy but good. Now, the best is this story: the night of our stay, it snowed and the place looked marvellous....BUT the roads turned icy and I had a hard time preventing the car from sliding off the road! Managed to park the car and walked back to the Reception and told them that I might be waiting till afternoon for the roads to thaw. The senior manager there without any hesitation got his colleague, took us in their vehicle and went to our car, and he drove our car down the mountain to below the icy area before letting us back into our vehicle and waving us off. This kindness is heartwarming!

JapanIt can't be helped for the area it's in (i.e. deep in the mountains), but it's pretty much impossible to get to without a car (the only thing stopping me from giving a perfect 10), and even with a car it's fairly out of the way. But it's reasonably close to Kurokawa Onsen and Yufuin, so it works well for those who want to sightsee in those places.
Although more expensive than a business hotel, the room is literally a full apartment, probably comparable to a large (by Japan standards), open-concept 1LDK. It was extremely comfortable, the Japanese-style breakfast buffet was excellent (I did not try the dinner though), and the family bath and outdoor bath facilities were both high quality. So this place is truly a steal. Would love to go more often if it were a bit more accessible.

JapanBroken lamps, peeling wall paper, patched up walls. They had lamp shades with holes in them and tape. How anybody finds this acceptable I don’t know. Generally speaking and how this place was maintained makes you feel it’s not very clean. Not to mention. Just smelled strange and the beds are terribly uncomfortable. Literally laying on soggy yet hard springs. I would rather be camping in the blowing rain then pay for this stay.

ThailandBathroom so old and have stain water. Floor drain is open and waste water flowing out. Bedsheet have some of hair. And futon prepare by ownself. Lamp at side table so old and molt. In this area have not any restaurants. Instant food is a little bit expensive.
