How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Fantastic breakfast, Japanese and European. Amazing location close to the centre. Nice staff. Comfortable room with soft bed and blackout curtains. No complaints!!

The location is good and close to shops and a short walk from Mepuru Loop bus stop. The room is clean and the staff are efficient and with a ready smile. I would recommend this hotel.

There were no stairs available and one has to take the elevator even for one floor up.
The breakfast buffer had a good choice of food.

The TV had a button for Netflix, but when pressed it did not work. We got it to work once (a fluke somehow) and we watched Netflix for the first night, but the next two days it would not work, no matter what we tried. The bathroom smelt like a men’s urinal.
Fantastic, central location. The room is new and large for Japanese hotel rooms. The bed was comfy and the rain shower was awesome. We came across many other Aussies staying here.

The opaque glass door on the bathroom. Not so good when sharing when sharing. A 25-30 minute walk to Hiroshima Station but a 5-10 walk to bus stops.
A reasonable sized room with a good sized bathroom. Great storage space under beds for suitcases. Breakfast was a nice variety of Japanese and Western style. A good base for walking to major tourist attractions- Hiroshima Castle, Peace Park and museum, and Hondori.

Was quite strong sewer smell in the bathroom. You can’t open windows, we used only AC to refresh the room although if you ask staff they will bring a special key to open the window on request
Good location, room was bright with large bed and well insulated, shower was amazing too. Breakfasts were great, lots of options for vegetarians even for vegans which I was very happy about.

I thought this hotel was great value for money. Really good location with most things in walking distance. Clean and comfortable with everything you need. I'd stay here again.

We were unable to open the window in our room because it was locked, and there was a sign indicating that it was not to be opened. There was an air conditioner and an air purifier in the room, which somewhat helped. However, it would have been nice to be able to open the window (at least partially) and get some fresh air.
The hotel was very easy to find. The staff was helpful, and the room was very comfortable. The window blind was made so that no light could come in if you pulled it all the way down, which is great for anyone who is light-sensitive. We had everything we needed. We will definitely visit again!

The air-conditioner in the room 608 was a bit smelly, especially when operating in a heating mode, and needs to undergo some maintenance. We were irritated at times that we couldn't open the window (seems to be commonplace at Japanese hotels) to let fresh air in.
We liked everything, basic and good. The room was spacious and the double bed really big - the size we are used to in Germany. Breakfast times were a bit early for us though - from early morning till 9:30.

This has been the same in all Japanese hotel rooms on our price range- no place for two carryon suitcases except on beds or the table. There was also only one chair.
Good location, walked to Peace Memorial along the Peace Promenade, a boulevard with flowers and memorial markers. Also convenient to combinis (convenience stores). Microwave in the lobby was appreciated. Helpful front desk staff.

The area had red-light district vibes and may not be appropriate for families. Basic breakfast that stops serving at ~9:30am, only 1100Y though.
Roomy. Nice shower with great pressure. Convenient amenities with plenty of toiletries. Laundromat across the road. Plenty of convenience stores/eateries nearby.
