Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandI don't get the bad reviews. Yes, it is a bit old, but have you seen the city? Most of the hotels are oldish. The staff was friendly, the rooms were good, amenities were provided, it was clean and it is next to a tram stop. A few good restaurants in the same street and combinis near by

United StatesBed was not the most comfortable. Room had a musty odor, but this is common in Okinawa. Hotel is older than most.
Breakfast was very good value. Howzit Colin. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Located close to rail station and one end of Kokusai Dori. Convenient store 2 short blocks away.

LatviaThe most beautiful hotel from our whole Japan trip. Nice garden on the roof and very close to monorail which takes you to airport in 15 minutes. A lot of space in the room.

United StatesThe room I got had a lingering smell of cigarettes. The staff said my room was non-smoking, but I think it either bordered smoking rooms or was once a smoking room. The hallways had the same lingering smell. Choose your room type wisely.
Sun Palace is a nice but dated hotel in the heart of Naha. The Yui Rail is a short walk away, as are Japan's popular convenience stores. Their breakfast was great; they served it ryokan-style. A rotating video helps you find spots to visit in Naha that might not have made it onto your itinerary.

JapanEven though the room was non-smoking, there was still a slight smell that lingered, so I kept the window option. There was a hole and stains in my sheets as well
Very convenient location and very friendly staff! Plenty of amenities available. In addition, they didn’t copy my passport or residence card, which I greatly appreciate.

Hong KongThe security system is not very nice. We are required to put our room key in the reception and get the key when we are back. Yet, they did not check our documents before handing the key to us. Feel not very secure as literally everyone can access to our room in that case.
The location is very nice, so convenient to go shopping and to the airport. Also very close to many assembly point of local tour.

ThailandGreat hotel with a great location just across from Kenchomae Station. Close enough to Kokusaidori to walk there in 3 minutes, but far enough to avoid all its noise. The single room is a great bargain, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a wonderful Japanese style breakfast set that changes every day, with bread, coffee, and juice available. Hot water in the shower was plentiful, and bottled drinking water was provided every day. I'll definitely stay again next time I'm in Naha!!

JapanAt check-in the staff asked to see my residence card. Only the police and immigration officials have the right to see it. I showed the receptionist my Japanese driver's license and he wanted to make a copy of it. That is not legal. The hotel doesn't copy driver's licenses of Japanese guests. Eventually the receptionist agreed to only look at the driver's license to confirm that I indeed live in Japan. In the morning at check-out, the reception couldn't book a taxi, because the taxi company they work with wasn't picking up the phone. The reception also had no clue about the monorail timetable despite being located right next to the station. The bathroom wasn't very clean. The bed cover was absolutely disgusting. But the sheet under it was fresh and clean.
The location is excellent.
