How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel doesn't offer breakfast and room service.
Beds are very comfortable. Location is perfect to get the bullet train and to do a tour around Kyoto.

Not a lot of shops, dinning nearby. However, plenty of options at Kyoto station 5 mins walk away.
Good standard at the price. Close to Kyoto station.

The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walk to the main train station so it's perfect when you're planning to do some day trips from Kyoto (Nara, Osaka etc) The hotel has all the comforts and the room size is average compared to others in Japan.

Amenities were basic but adequate. The washing machines take much longer than you'd expect to dry.
Nice room and in a decent location central to many of the trains.

So, I stayed one more night in a considerable price, but I had to change the room since it was a overnight decision, they had a double twin room and honestly was much better than one bed, the room was bigger. And I loved that they gave the room once I checked out the first so I did not have to leave my luggage and wait until 3 pm to check in and I even did not pay extra for getting the room earlier!

It is on a great location and there are so many convenient stores, Kyoto station and restaurants around. They also have a “free dining room on the entrance” and their cleanliness and all the errands for your room you could get them as many as you need without questioning. I also loved they gave us three sets of towels even that the room was for two people but my toddler was for free and they set up for three people ☺️

The location was really good. Close to Avanti, limo bus to Kansai airport and Kyoto station. Room not too big, but cosy enough. Staff friendly enough

I thought the hotel is quite near the train station like next to it but it is not as it takes about five minutes to walk. As I had to walk further in the train station to reach the platforms on the opposite side of the train station. Hotel itself was wonderful though.
Lovely hotel, great staff and very comfortable hotel. They have a great lounge.

Sometimes I think , as visitors, we don't appreciate how welcoming and friendly Japanese people are. But the hotel and it's staff don't need to change a thing, it is a top place to stay.
Brilliant location, close to station but quiet location. A few very good eateries within 10 minutes walk.. A lovely room which was clean and restful. It was just such a convenient location for malls, the public transport system and the all important early morning 7-11 coffee runs. And the staff were friendly and helpful.

We couldn't get a double bed and had to opt for two singles but at least they are side by side and comfortable.
Great location close to the train station. Helpful staff and fun communal area downstairs to hang out in. It's a shame the ping pong table is only for show though as we really enjoyed the Foosball table. Nice modern clean room, great bathroom with nice size shower, great to not be in a shower over a bath also. Good coin operated laundry facility.

Everything was kind of perfect. But in a room the gap between the door and the floor was large enough that it did not adequately attenuate the sound from the corridor. However, this did not affect the comfort and sense of privacy.
Very close to the Kyoto Station. Not so loud area. Co-working zone looks great.

Hotel staff immediately removing your laundry from the washer-dryer when you are 2 minutes late to collecting after the cycle has finished. This happened twice, and I had to go hunting for my laundry as apparently they can't wait for you to get out of the lift.
Location was amazing, a short 5 minute walk from Kyoto's main train station, and conveniently next to Lawson's/7-11's. The room was very spacious for what we paid and where we were located, with good amenities and facilities - we used the laundry room whilst we were there, quick and cheap. Could also leave luggage securely in the hotel for the day after we checked out.
