Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaThe bed wasn’t very comfortable to be honest. And if you have a medium size suitcase or bigger, you can’t really keep it within your ‘capsule’ comfortably. I tend to keep my valuables close to me to prevent any unfortunate theft, and this kind of bugged me. But this doesn’t make this place a bad place to stay for few nights.
Overall facilities were clean and new. It seemed like this place was newly built.

JapanDust. It's always so dusty especially in the bedroom area where you can see the dust swirling around by the vents which are poorly cleaned
Great location and it's just enough space for someone travelling alone

AustraliaLittle bit of struggle to fit your suitcase if it is large! I managed fine with a medium check in, just couldn’t store under the bed (only in front). Temperature can be adjusted, but found it was still quite warm.
For a capsule hotel it was a very nice stay! The shelf above the bed was super helpful for storing things. The lighting and moving bed feature controlled by the iPod was great. I found it quiet for the most part, although any noise from guests wasn’t any fault of the hotel of course! It was nice having the women’s area separate so felt comfortable. Showers and toilets very clean. Buffet downstairs for extra fee was great.

AustraliaNot much room under the bed for luggage - was not able to fit my suitcase. Needed to put my suitcase on the bed (however, bed was king single, still spacious enough to sleep).
Interesting hostel with large capsule rooms - bed convertible into sofa, controlled using ipod touch connected to wall. Bathroom facilities were clean. Fantastic place to meet other travellers with nice shared lounge space/bar on the ground floor. Happy hour at 5:30 - 6:30 pm with free beer and lemon sour every night.

SingaporeAs an introvert, i didnt like how noisy the lounge area was. People were talking and playing loudly with their friends, so i didnt have a space to make work calls or just to relax with some snacks if it got too loud (you cant eat in your capsule space, i suppose to keep the space clean, which is understandable). Then again i do understand having a common bustling area is the concept of the hotel so.. just not for me i guess. I just wish there was a quiet area for people like me to get away to😭.
Was my first time staying at a ‘capsule’ hotel, and i was pleasantly surprised with how big the bed was. The shower and toilet stalls were clean and shower amenities were well provided for. I was expecting the sleeping area to be noisy but it was really quiet, ear plugs were also provided. Breakfast selection was interesting! I didnt check the menu before paying for breakfast, so I expected a buffet breakfast. But they offered 1 main meal from 4 options with a small variety of salads, fruits and other breakfasty foods.

GermanyI did not like that there was no social space where I could do a phone call. Everywhere is music and there is no such space where you can sit and relax.
I really liked the pods and the staff was really friendly and helpful.

CanadaThis is a hostel one would use when they need to reset. It's clean, with ample space, and plenty of privacy. It can be a bit impersonal. This can be good or bad, depends on what you expected when you booked the capsule room. I found this hostel a great place to relax and reset on my 3 week Japan vacation. There is a lack of storage, your suitcases and backpacks better be small or it'll be hard to fit them under your bed. If your luggage proves to be too large you'll have to stow it at reception or try to lay it on its side. If you want your bed to be flat, you need to be able to fit it under the bed or it won't be able to go into a flat position.
The location is right off of the airport metro line connecting right into Hakata station. Great amenities, facilities were clean. The lounge and only guest upstairs area look amazing. The stairs leading to the guest lounge are decorated beautifully leading into a very trendy looking guest area. Free coffee, water machine were present. Plenty of comfortable seating. Didn't take advantage of the free beer, but I just went out and bought some 150 yen sake instead (haha). The actual capsules are wonderful in that they have reclining beds. I can't tell for sure but they've been sound proofed partially atleast.

The location near the nightly food stalls was perfect. The place is clean and provides essential amenities like a bath, toilet, and bed, which were adequate for my needs. The bed can tilt up, waking you up, and was very comfortable to sleep on. This feature was critical for me, as relying on my iPhone's vibration mode to wake me up may have caused me to oversleep and miss my train. I would definitely use this place again.
