Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe space in the capsule was generally a bit smaller than in Kyoto and when you wanted to open the capsule, you had to pull the bed up which was annoying at night. No daylight in the lounge. Maybe the price should be lower as Kyoto, as there are also cheaper accomendations in Fukuoka
I already stayed at the Millennials in Kyoto which was also very comfortable so I rented the same place again. The beds are big an comfy and the showers are hyper nice! There is a big loung with a pool table and you can chill and have free beer from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and meet other Backpackers that way. The location was also very good.

SwitzerlandThe smart capsule is controlled by an iPod, and there is no shelf or anything to hold it, so it just lies on the bed and takes up an usb outlet. The blinds can be rather loud. Yes, you can stand in the capsule if the bed is in the sofa setting, but although I am a small person, I opened the blinds most of the time anyway as the space is very limited.
Spacious capsules, clean facilities, good location.

FinlandThere are not too many showers per floor so you might have to wait during the busiest hours.
The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The dorm was full but everyone was courteos and quiet. I could fit my opened medium size luggage (69cm tall) under the bed well. The breakfast was nice with stuff like iced coffee you could also take to go!

SingaporeIt can get abit noisy in the morning when people prepare to leave the place, as well as at night when people are back from their day.
Very near the train station. Capsules were relatively big, able to keep suitcase within the capsule. Projector works great as well as a good wind down every evening.

CanadaSome of my larger luggage had to be kept at the reception, which made access cumbersome. If you are travelling light it's a fantastic place.

VietnamI didn't like somehow that the toilet is kinda smelly I would understand though that lot of people are using it.
I liked how they did the capsule room it wasn't cramp in the sense that you can stand up unlike the other capsules that I've tried which you can't stand at all.🙂 And the bed is convertible to a sofa bed which makes it a unique experience in a capsule room.

United StatesThere were no on-site lockers, just small lockboxes under the bed, which weren't of sufficient size for a standard laptop. Walls were fairly thin, so you had to be mindful when doing anything in the pod for planning activities, was safer to do so in the upstairs lounge area.
I didn't get to try the happy hour, but the bar and lounge space were well appointed. Great location which was walkable to some of the main trendy parts of the area. Very close to the subway, so also easy to get around to other areas and the train station.

ThailandLike most capsule hotels, noise is a problem when guests check in late. They do give you ear plugs though. There's a timer on the lights/bed to wake you up. Be sure to set it or it will wake you up super early.

The capsule was very nice and the bed can be converted into a kind of couch. The place was also clean and I liked the breakfast. The Hostel was inside a Hotel and the common area and the breakfast kind of luxury. They also served free beer every day on happy hour:)

PhilippinesNot a negative against the hotel but the area around it is red light district, so just set your expectations
One of the better capsule hotels I stayed in Japan - the bed itself is spacious, and you can stash a medium sized luggage under the bed. The property is in the same building as The Lively, which has an impressive lobby and also shares the happy hour event, which offers free beer and whiskey sour to guests between 530pm - 630pm. I enjoyed my stay, although it is just for transit as I explored Oita, but the hotel offered all the basics you need for a short stay - you don't even need to open your luggage as they already provide you with toiletries. I also used the address for delivery for my amazon JP purchase as I know I will be arriving at the property on the scheduled delivery date and I am grateful they accepted the package on my behalf and it's ready for me as I check in
