Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Philippines-no soundproof room. -no elevator. Not Senior Citizen friendly hotel. -no front desk staff in the annex building. -We were assigned to room 301 to 303. Both are 15-18sqm but 301 doesn't seem as big as 302 and 303. -small bathroom and NO BIDET. Bring portable bidet like I did! 🤣 -Bring a scented disinfectant because their room has a musty smell, but it will eventually disappear if the exhaust fan is on for a long time. -I suggest that all rooms has door eyelet and double lock.😬
-The room is spacious for 2 pax with 5 luggages only. We were able to move around comfortably. -They will clean your room if you leave your key to the front desk. -You can bring food and reheat it on their microwave. -there are alot of restaurants and convenience stores. -Just a 10min(max) walk going to Don Quijote, Okubo Station, and Shin Okubo Station. -Near the famous shopping districts like Shinjuku and Shibuya. 1 station away to Shinjuku and 2 for Shibuya.

JapanI've already stayed here once, so I knew what to expect -- it was a bit shabby and old. There were some things that had cracks (the floor, the toilet seat), and the floor was shaking as I walked on it. But at the end of the day if you just have to stay somewhere for a short time these things are kind of dismissible.
The price was very cheap and the location was great, although in a bit of a shady street. Just a few minutes away from Shin-okubo station, many food places and convenience stores around. Relatively clean and relatively comfortable, nothing too spectacular.

CanadaJust the pillows. Everything else was good.
The room was good, with 3 single beds as promised. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were a little small and my husband could have used a second. The shower was great and the separate shower and toilet allowed for not having bathroom conflicts. For the price, this was a wonderful place to stay and we really enjoyed our time there. Close to Shinjuku without being right in Shinjuku.

JapanThe ventilation was kind of loud, but you get used to it. On another hand the air conditioner was even louder, so I think it kept waking me up during the night (I had to keep it on since it was really hot and humid at night). The beds were also cracking (not creaking, CRACKING) so every time my sister would move in her bed I would get woken up. The wifi in our room also didn't work at all times. Additionally when we would come back to the room there was a stinky sock smell coming from somewhere and it wasn't our socks! Maybe it was from the vent? Lastly, something that made me really uneasy is that in the hotel instructions it was written that the hotel wouldn't be liable in case of a robbery, and since I can't bring my laptop everywhere with me, I had to hide it along with my other stuff before leaving the room. Since the locks didn't seem that secure anyways, I couldn't help but feel anxious...
The location was very convenient, alas in a bit of a fishy area, but I didn't have any bad experiences myself. The check out process is simple, and the room itself is very spacious. You get your own fridge and a water cooker so it's convenient for those who like to have a warm/cold drink in the morning. Also something really important to me was that the sound isolation was good, so the people in the room next door didn't disturb me, and I could attend online meetings knowing I won't be disturbing anyone either.

AustraliaThe washing machine costs only 100yen per load and the dryers are free. Problem is the dryers are old and ineffective.
After reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about this hotel. My tall teenage son and I stayed 5 nights in a twin room in the annex and it was fantastic for the price. Shin Okubo is walking distance to Shinjuku without the madness. It’s a Korean student area and has a great vibe with lots of restaurants etc. The room was very spacious by Japanese standards although the bathroom was tiny. While the bed was comfortable, the pillow was small and hard (something we encountered across Japan). Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was full but we didn’t see or hear other guests during our stay. The small window looks out to the next door building. It didn’t bother us as we were out all day sightseeing. If you’re on a budget I would highly recommend this place.

United StatesThe building seems to be falling apart. The put some sort of contact paper on the wall that seemed to cover up significant cracks. The floor in my room was spongy when walking normally. The water in the shower alternated between cold and hot in the morning (usually around 6am). The twin beds were very uncomfortable.
Staff was responsive and helpful.

United StatesThe beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible. There was a bad smell coming from the bathroom so we never used the shower/bath. We took the chair from the desk and put it between the beds so we could have a place for our phones and personal items. Bulb burnt out in the overhead light. No elevator- had to carry heavy bags up several flights of stairs.
What breakfast? We were never offered a breakfast.

New ZealandThe hotel is very dated. In the room there was small coffee cups, two packets of green tea and a kettle. There was no spoons provided for the coffee cups. There was a tv. Housekeeping only every 3 nights. The shower had two sets of taps, one set went straight to the floor and the other tap went to the shower head. There was a bath as well. Facilities could only improve.
Location was great, Yamanote line 10 minutes away
