The bathroom needs a little deep cleaning. The cabin’s curtains and bathroom curtain have mold. The toilet needs some scrubbing.

The cabin was nice and comfortable. Secluded and quiet. The cabin is not walkable but the caretaker is very nice and friendly. He drove us around.

The kindness and service of the owner is unparalelled. He also helped us a lot with getting the correct ferry from Okinawa (Naha) to Tokashiki. Absolutely great.

Knifes we’re not very sharp, there’s no shower towels and nothing to assist cleaning up after yourself.

For a remote island getaway this place was great. Down side is the mosquitos, we could not enjoy the outdoor seating area but it is understandable because it is in the mountains. Another thing, it does not provide towels for shower. We had to use our sandy towels to dry ourselves. I wish this was mentioned in the descriptions I would have prepared better. Besides that it was a great location.

Just the location. Everything was great. I would stay here again if we had beach access.

I wish the location would have been different. I should have read more of the details. If we stayed on the island again, we probably wouldn't use this location without our car. They offered driving, but we wanted to be on our own schedule.

The aircon was in the lower part of the house and did not reach the upstairs sleeping area. We found it too hot for us to sleep in July. We chose to sleep in the downstairs living area which was fine for our small family of 3, but it might be uncomfortable for a larger group. One of the cooking pans was in poor condition - dented with black food stains - which we tried to scrub off but couldn't. The kitchen lacked a few items that would have been useful: 1) A pot for boiling pasta 2) a vegetable peeler 3) large dining plates 4) Western-style knife and fork sets We wished we could see the fabulous view of the sea from our cottage but unfortunately it was blocked by the trees and bushes in front.

Peaceful location in the hills. Host could speak good English and provided transport to beaches and small supermarket. He was also very helpful in sourcing a few items that we needed during the trip. We were worried about not having any wifi, but we were able to hire a wifi router from Japan Wireless which we collected in Okinawa and it worked fine.

We truly enjoyed staying at Tokashiki Guest House! The cabin is exactly as seen on the internet. It was very easy to get to either of the beautiful beaches. A hidden gem on beautiful island.

The Guest House was great! Amazing location, quiet and near two very beautiful beaches. The Manager was also super nice and kind. So overall, we had the perfect travelling experience! We will definitely come back another time.

Amazing house! Made of wood and surrounded by forest. Has everything you need for a great vacation. Would be the next for groups. Since it’s far from other objects on the island it’s better to rent your own transportation. But even if you don’t have one the very nice owner can meet you at the port and maybe take you to some locations. Big thanks for this!

The location is a dream, the futons were very comfortable, and there was everything we could ask for. Moreover, our host was great! He was very helpful and kind: he helped us with the transportation to the beach and to the port. Everything was perfect!

Upon entering the property you can smell mold. The linens aren’t clean, the shower curtain and drapes as well as the “extra” pads/mattresses has mold on them. The toaster oven was dirty, the sponge an dish towels are filthy! We asked about changing out the molded mattresses, the response from the manger was “we don’t have new ones”. We checked out a day early due to our discomfort of the filthy place. If we had read more reviews before making reservations we would have discovered that these issues hasn’t been addressed since 2017. Although we didn’t request a refund for the second day, the manager sent a text stating that we were refunded. I do appreciate that.

The property has potential, however it is obviously being neglected.

It was not a walkable distance from the beach however, the shuttle service completely made up for it as our host was exceptionally quick to respond and so kind when they picked us up from our locations.

What an incredibly little vacation away from Okinawa. For our group of six adults, we were celebrating a variety of birthdays and milestones and the location could not have been more perfect! The cabin was adorable and cozy. The basic essentials were provided and anything else that was needed could be found in town. The shuttle service was absolutely amazing; there is no need for a car! Our driver was always available for pickup/drop off and so incredibly kind. On our way to the beach the first day, he was pointing out restaurants and shops for us too! We would absolutely stay here again and wish our stay was longer.
