Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanBreakfast was only available until 8:30am which was a little early. I would have liked to have more space to hang wet swimsuits as they didn't dry at all on the balcony. There was a clothes line outside but no clothes pins. The aircon in our room kept turning off so I didn't sleep very well. There aren't a lot of shops on the island so I appreciated there being one in the hotel, but I would have liked a bit more variety and maybe some lunch boxes/rice balls. The hotel had a strange hospital kind of smell about it, not sure why. I would also have liked a snorkeling tour for advanced snorkelers i.e. no life jackets.
The location is incredible, right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (in my opinion) and surrounded by nature on all sides. The staff were extremely professional and spoke really good English. I was surprised to get such a level of service in Okinawa! The breakfast and dinner buffet were really good and had a lot of variety. I also went on an incredidble snorkeling tour of the outer reef, organized by the hotel. It was good value for money.

JapanIt was dated and the beds weren’t that comfortable. This place would be a gem with some updates.

CanadaFood at both breakfast and dinner buffet was not particularly hot, even at the start of dinner times. The building is quite old and does feel run down in parts. This is a simple hotel. Snorkeling rules on Tokashiku Beach are not clear and not explained well by life guards. This resulted in us not snorkeling here, which was a shame as we booked to potentially see turtles here.
Beachfront location on a beautiful white sand beach. Staff were incredible and went above and beyond. Plenty of amenities provided along with free shuttles to & from the ferry to Naha, along with 2 free shuttles a day to Aharen beach for guests. Highly recommend taking the trip to Aharen. Breakfast and Dinner were buffet style with plenty of options.

FranceThe room was smelling very bad (all the time… a mix of cigarette and humidity…) and was not really clean (under the beds etc) and the hotel definitely needs a renovation (corridors look like hospital corridors)
The location right by the beauty each, the affordable price, the staff were really nice, the buffet for breakfast and diner, the shop open from 8 am to 9 pm for drinks and snacks, the availability of services and rental things at the beach.

JapanSuper friendly staff. We could both make an early check-in and late check-out allowing us to stay as much as possible at the beach. We enjoyed the beach and the snorkeling. We saw sea turtles, a large variety of fish and beautiful corals. The kitchen accommodated our request for vegetarian food in addition the buffet.

United KingdomVery poor facilities. Of course if the weather is nice you wouldn’t care about this at all since you’d be spending all the time at the beach, however we stayed for 2 days and it rained all the time, had to spend all day in the room which wasn’t very comfortable (nor there were additional facilities or areas where to spend time during the day). We also didn’t have a bedside table so that made reading uncomfortable. Lastly, the timings of dinner were a bit tight as the latest you could access the restaurant was 7:30 pm - very much early for our dinner habits.
Location was great, sadly it rained all the time when we were there but the beach in front was stunning anyway

IndiaTatami floor mat is getting old (but clean). Rooms are small for families not used to floor bedding (futon).
View from balcony Access to a natural beach. Hospitality of the staff, pick-up, smiles and courtesy. The hotel was kind to cancel our non-cancelable booking for 1st day without any charges, when the ferries were canceled from Naha. A courtesy not even offered by "rich" hotels. Breakfast and dinner was in abundant in variety.

ArgentinaThe hotel is not fancy but is super comfortable and the staff is more than welcoming and kind. The Tokashiku beach doesn’t have shops or restaurantes but there is free breakfast and dinner included in the hotel price. And they also have a small shop where you can buy drinks, some food and souvenirs. Also they rent equipment for snorkeling (totally recommended) and umbrellas for the sun. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay at Tokashiki island.

SloveniaMight be considering a little renovation, since the hotel is a bit worn-out, but that's what keeps its charm and less crowd. Also a little café wouldn't be bad. As far as the extra activities, unfortunately you can't go to rent and use the sup alone (the instructor is always needed) - it would be perfect to have a little freedom with the sup...
It's directly on the quiet tranquil beach, where you can swim and snorkel on your own. The food in the hotel was good. And it's clean overall. The staff went the extra mile and gave us a free late check out. Bonus points also gets the free transfer.
