How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was a great size and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed being able to use the public baths. Short walk from the train station where you can hop on the loop bus which was perfect for sightseeing.

Very common in Japan, but the room was so small it was very hard to open the luggage and move around it at the same time
Very nice and clean room, comfortable bed and pillows. I liked how they care about the waste. All the useful info provided at check in

I liked the coin laundry but so did all the other guests. It was difficult to get to one of 3 machines in the evening.
Location near the train station was great! Complimentary afternoon tea was available in the lobby. Morning coffee was available for purchase. Rooms were clean & comfortable. The onsen was a nice way to start and end our days of sightseeing.

This place is a really good value for the money and it's situated close to the train station. The staff was very friendly and the amenities were just right. I definitely recommend it.

It was a great choice for our 1-night stay in Kanazawa, 5 mins walk to the Station and around 15mins walk to other sights in the city. The room was impeccably clean and well designed, the staff very friendly and welcoming. We had missed a bit more space for comfort, although the room was more spacious than other places we stayed in Japan.

No Onsen if you have a tattoo. The room was very small.
The hotel has a good location next to the train station and not too far from the city center. The facility was very clean. The breakfast was delicious with fresh juices. The value for money is excellent.

Bed a bit hard but pillows were soft.
Close to Kanazawa Station and bus station. Easy 5 min walk from train and easy to catch local buses to see the sights.

The onsen did not allow tattoos, so my partner missed out on it. It’s a shame that it’s still a thing even today.
The location is about 5 minutes flat road walk to Kanazawa station, which was great. The room was spacious and the bathroom was a bit less crowded than ones we’ve been at in other places in Japan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The indoor onsen was clean and with many free amenities.

Pillows very uncomfortable and two lights outside the window shone all night making the whole room daylight. It was not until the morning that I found a roller blind that could have blocked the light. Staff need to tell people in these rooms about that. No sleep.

Very poor English of the staff in reception
Hotel very close to the central station of Kanazawa, spacious room, has separate onsen for men and woman and very clean. Clean towels provided daily as well as clothes for onsen

The laundromat takes only 100yen coins, but there is no change machine in the room. On the contrary there was a vending machine. I believe it is an unfair practice to encourage customer to change money by buying drinks.
Room and onsen were very clean and comfortable.

The hotel is very comfortable. The room was clean and it has all amenities. It was slightly more spacious than an average hotel room in Japan. It had a nice public bath. The location is the best, it is very close to the station. There are nice restaurants nearby. There are few car rentals nearby as well. I highly recommend the hotel.
