Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location is EVERYTHING. I almost don’t want to spread the good word but this place and specially the staff are amazing. Very helpful and kind. And the place is very clean which I love. I’ll definitely be back when I return to beautiful Kyoto.

I HAVE TO SAY MY STAY IN TSUKIMI HOTEL WAS FANTASTIC. The beds are comfortable and a good size and rooms and place are very clean. very accessible by bus or train to the rest of Kyoto within a few minutes of walking. Everyone who works here is very kind and helpful especially Mr. Kenji. He's very nice and welcoming. I love how they take the time to have a conversation with you. It was my first time to book a capsule hotel and I was not disaappointed. I made the right decision to stay in this hotel. If I will come back to Kyoto definitely I will stay at Tsukimi hotel and I will advise all my friends to stay in this hotel.

United StatesRoom cannot accommodate bags so the entry hallway is quite crowded. Not impossible at all to navigate but just a note. Bags allowed behind bunks was a bit problematic with noise. But cant control all peoples movements in a hostel.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Facility was clean and kitchen was well equipped. Including coffee machine, fridge and cooking supplies. Very well laid out and entry lounge very nice to hang. Bunks were perfectly fine and a good sleep can be had should the roommates allow. The staff was quick to help or answer any questions. Great area and a short walk to a couple of the better known temples.

United StatesMy only complaints are the hangout spot downstairs isn't a very comfortable place to chill, and the dryer took forever to dry my clothes. But other than that this was a fantastic place to stay.
All of the staff speak great English, are very friendly and very helpful. Especially the Bali guy (sorry I don't remember his name). They have big combination lockers as well as a small safe in the pod. The beds are comfortable and a good size. They give you a new towel every day. The location is unbelievable, right in the center of the tourist hotspot Gion.

Everything. The space in the pod, the services and the staff are the best. I really enjoyed my stay here and met a lot of nice people. This hostel looks more like a hotel and has the services of a hotel, but it’s so warm and I would recommend this hostel to everyone!

South KoreaLack of signage telling guests about quiet hours, so random people would wake me up at random hours talking. I thought it was common sense not to talk in the room areas of capsule hotels, but maybe more signs would be needed.
Clean. It was near a lot of attractions, but still on a quiet street. The staff were the best! They really attended to the guests and even helped me contact the lost & found for the city to help me find something I lost when I was out.

Staff is super friendly and helpful. From the hostels in Japan I stayed, this has the most friendly vibe of all. Place is very clean, beds are good enough. Location is good and very near the Gion area, which has a lot of fancy restaurants and touristy places to visit.

United KingdomThe capsule got quite warm even with the extractor fan on. Whilst you could fit clothes and small backpacks inside the locker, there’s no chance you’d fit a suitcase or large backpack. Not a huge problem but did make it a bit pointless for me.
The staff were all very friendly, the hostel has a communal feel to it. The capsule felt much more soundproof/solid than other capsule hostels I have stayed in. You get a locker for your shoes, a locker just outside the capsule room and a safe inside the capsule. All guests during my stay seemed respectful of noise and cleanliness, probably one of my favourite hostels I’ve stayed at.

United StatesI love this hostel! It’s so clean and comfortable! Very spacious as well! The staff is very kind and helped me call places to find out about availability and make reservations. The location is perfect in the gion district and a few minutes by walking to the famous Maruyama park, Pontocho Alley, Kamo River, Hokanji temple, Sannenzaka road, Hanamikoji Street, and accessible by bus or train to the rest of Kyoto within a few minutes of walking. This hostel has a cleaning time but does not force you to leave, unlike a few other places I’ve stayed at in Japan. I was able to sleep in when I needed to, which was wonderful! They have coffee/tea and a kitchen available for guests yes. Right by a convenience store. The rooftop has the best view! The only thing I would say is leave extra time for laundry, it took me 2 hours time in the dryer to fully dry my clothes (but I had a big load), but that’s been a reoccurring issue in Japan.

United StatesThe capsules themselves were very comfortable, with enough space for luggage to fit inside and for electronics to connect to outlets. They even had a safe inside the unit. There are plenty of showers and toilets on every floor, so no issues with crowding. They give you fresh towels every morning, which is great. Overall, it's one of the better hostels I've stayed at.

AustraliaMaybe a hook to hang up your towel in the shower would be a bit more convenient, otherwise I can’t really complain about anything! Loved it
Firstly, the staff were amazing. Super friendly and always down for a chat. The location was right near the Yasaka shrine, so the back streets were all the traditional architectural houses which was absolutely stunning to be around. There were lots of streets to explore near by. You’ll also be about a 15-20min walk from a river that’s always pretty to see, and if you cross the bridge to the other side, there’s strips of shops
