Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe hotel is exactly beneath the railway and they tell you that it is really load. If you agree you sign this. But I liked so much the noise and after midnight it was totally silent until the next morning.

AustraliaIt’s pretty obvious given the name of the property, but those totally sensitive to noise will likely struggle sleeping with the trains overhead. Some are louder than others. However between the air purifier in the room, and earplugs, plus being exhausted from touristing, it wasn’t a huge problem for us. I’d imagine over a few nights it would get tiresome, but for a short stay no problems.
Great location, good sized rooms (although bathroom was tiny but wasn’t a big deal for us), rooms felt comfortable and well appointed. Lots of amenities to stock up on (ear plugs, slippers, face masks, etc). Free luggage storage both before and after check in/out. Cafe at reception is quaint, we spent a couple of hours there before heading to the airport and we were comfortable and well looked after in the process.

AustraliaTrain noise is louder than advertised.
Great facility and location, but don’t let the other reviews fool you, you can 100% (!!!) hear the trains overhead and it is very loud. Recommended for deep sleepers or for very short stays. Staff is freer also, super clean room.

SingaporeThe location is very convenient! Just a few minutes walk to Akihabara station. From Akihabara station is just 2 stops away from Tokyo station! The room is small, but it has everything you need. Amenities can be collected at the front desk before heading to your rooms! Even though it is situated under a railway, the sound of the trains didn't bother us at all! They even provide earplugs at the front desk if you need them.

New ZealandThe room was a bit smaller (quad room) than expected. The bathroom was more like a cruise ship size. It was cute and quirky but not great for a family of 4 to hang out in when the kids needed some down time. Perfectly clean and comfortable though and fine for a couple of nights!
Location was excellent only a few hundred meters from train and subway options and a couple of blocks from electric city. The free left luggage option was appreciated and a key selling point as we arrived early and had a late flight out of Tokyo. Staff were friendly and helpful, good wifi, nice public/cafe area to hang out in. Nice and clean, train noise in the room was barely noticeable.

PolandIt’s really really noisy. For us it was impossible to sleep and we changed hotel after just one night. You can hear trains every 2 minutes but also people, cars and fire station. I'm warning you because people say it's not that bad. It is.
This hotel has good location in central Akihabara, next to the train and metro station. Spacious room (for 3 people) with wide, comfortable beds. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s definitely a highlight.

United StatesThe ladders for the bunk beds were difficult to climb and left my legs bruised, the bathroom smelled, was very small and the towels where super small as well.
Found the sounds of the train soothing, and the location was fantastic! Easy to get around the city, close to Akihabara Station.

AustraliaNothing to complain about, i paid the cheapest rate for a room and got what i paid for. Can’t complain the small room was great and i was already aware of the room size. The other rooms looked pretty big as per checking the room maps which you can see at reception.
The hotel is in such a great location! On the same street as Akihabara station. We stayed in Room 6 which was one of two of the SMALLEST rooms they had. Probably wasn’t ideal for my husband and 1 year old but we managed and it wasn’t an issue, we were rarely at the hotel. Also price was fare and cheapest for the room. Probably best for a single or couple. Previous reviews said they couldn’t sleep due to the train noise, i’m a very light sleeper and managed well with the noise, helped with bub as she usually listens to white noise, she slept through it as well as my husband. Over such a convenient hotel location!! You can also ask for extra pillows.

MalaysiaWe don't like about the room is there is no clear instruction of how we need to switch on the heater. We have open the switch near the room but the room is super freezing, we keep on finding which button to on the heater but can't find any. At the end we found the switch on the heater itself! LOL, thank godness we don't need to sleep in the cold temperature room
I like the space of the room, even though is not wide but is long enough to fit a family of 5 (2 adt 3 chd). there is still have room of improvement.

United KingdomThe noise didn't bother me, but you can hear trains and if you're a light sleeper then it's something to consider. Personally, I find it quite soothing as a background noise. The first room we stayed in was very narrow, I would not recommend this room. Overall we have stayed in 3 rooms at this hotel, 2 were nice sizes and really had no issues with them. The third, however, was extremely narrow and I would have liked to have known about this room in advance. I would have paid extra to get a better room or would have expected a discount because it was a bit clunky in there with suitcases. Overall, not a massive issue but in comparison to the other rooms it was a bit of a let down.
The location is great if you're planning to spend a lot of time in Akihabara. Really central and less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. Room is super clean and well priced and there's a small hotel bar/cafe if you fancy a drink at any time. Additionally, they allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel for 5 days while we went to Yokohama.

United StatesMore noisy than expected because of the fire station across the street. Beds are very low to the ground so it can be difficult to get up and down for some folks. Needs better breakfast choices. Tiny bathroom even by Japanese standards.

United StatesWell, it’s all in the name of the hotel it is directly under the railway. So make sure you wear yourself out during the day so the sound of a passing train every two minutes doesn’t bother you. They do offer earplugs to accommodate for the sound.
Its location to the train station was incredible, the food choices in a close distance were also great and open late. The hotel was clean and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

AustraliaThe railway noise was significantly louder than expected and almost continuous. In the end it was a comforting noise to fall asleep to. There is a break from 1.30am -4.30am where no trains are running. It them becomes a bit of a shock once they begin again. Almost better if they kept going all night! Towels very small and dry so lacking any luxury.
Location is excellent. Price reflects the disadvantages of the hotel. Layout of beds etc all good.

SingaporeSome corners of the beds needed vacuuming (dust bunnies). The artificial leaves in the room are a nice decorative touch but also accumulate dust. 5 people using a single bathroom is a bit of a challenge - but manageable with a bit of give and take.
Excellent value for money. Managed to fit 5 adults comfortably into one room with enough space for luggage. Towels, toothbrush, shaver all provided. Love that the room was constructed to maximize the space. Very conveniently located near metro stations and the main JR Akihabara station. Using QR code for the door really does save on having to manage keys or key cards. Lots of food and shopping options nearby. Good coffee and breakfast served at the cafe. This really is under the railway tracks so one must accept the rumbling of the trains overhead. No issue if you sleep late and soundly like we do. The hotel does provide earplugs for those who need them.
