The owner is really hospitable, offering many great tips and suggestions on my trip. We also did a lot of random talks and I enjoyed them a lot. The Japanese style room offers a good chance to experience the culture as well.

Everything was great. Good traditional ryokan owned by wonderful host Syaodai-san. Someone before me complained on cold rooms so she gave me bigger heater just in case. But actually there was no need to turn it on — temperature was comfortable and blanket was very warm too. I was also happy about the cleanliness of a place. As for onsen it was a great thing to have in the evening after hiking. Syaodai-san also gave me hints about neighborhood. I had a great weekend in this place and wish to come back someday.

Consider that the hotel is very high in town, so if you need to go to the restaurants, you always have to climb up or take a taxi. If you're fit it's just 20 minutes.

We had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. We searched for a hotel with private Onsen sessions and found ourselves lucky to find this hotel for a reasonable price. The room was very spacious for Japan. We enjoyed our stay. If you like hiking you should definitly do some hikes around Hakone. One morning the woman running the hotel even gave us a ride to the next town to start our hike. This was very kind. Everything was very clean

Amazing, go without thinkibg twice - the hostess is amazing!! The room is big and the beds. Are comfortable, the onsen is great! It's close by public transport!! You can dim the lights, which is great, and have a small light as well Top notch, everything!!

Everything! The place is very nice. Close to the cable car stop. If you like simple places but cozy, this is perfect. The shared toilet is clean and nice. The onsen is amazing with the water full of life from the vulcano. We had 2 very good nights there and we recommend.

The door to the double bed room has large vents that let in a lot of light from the hallway, as well as noise from other guests. The level of sound isolation and privacy in the private room was comparable to being in a shared dorm room with curtains - ie. people cannot see you but can certainly hear everything, and vice versa. Someone’s phone alarm was ringing for over 15 minutes in a nearby room, which I could hear clearly while trying to sleep. Cleanliness level was OK - there were splotches on the wall of unknown origin, but floors and shared bathroom areas appeared clean. During my stay, it was very unfortunate that the fire alarm started ringing at around 5:30 am and did not stop for the rest of the night. The owner was manually turning it off every time it sounded. There appeared to be little investigation into or communication about whether there was an actual safety hazard to occupants. I left the following day so do not know whether the issue was resolved.

Great location near Kami-Gora station, also walkable from Sounzan. Private onsen was nice and relaxing. Bed was comfortable to lie on.

We requested extra bed but not allowed and ask us ton cancel booking n book directly to owner if want to stay,.My friend came nextday morning and she ask them to pay somemore want to report police????? There is no shower room except the onsen room but you have your own private washstand in each room and also public washstand on the floor. Must of all, we are in the Ryokan, just enjoy onsen everyday in the onsen room! 😉 The Ryukan is located on the slope, but is close frombus station and cable car station.

Super clean private onsen with reservation per 1 hr. Rusty water tab in the onsen room is very natural due to the composition of water, but you have to notice that there is no any scale around the onsen. It is not very big but enough to summarize the day with daily shower. 3rd floor doesn't have a elevator but the view of mountain is beautiful. The host even helps our luggage carry together for 3rd floor room, she is so kind and very considerate. The host provides the tea and teapot in the room, so do not miss it. I will visit again if I go back to Hakone.

Maybe a little far to walk from the town centre, although the ropeway is close by. Apart from that, disliked nothing.

Well located within two minutes to bus and cable car going up to Owakudani mountain. Very nice and chatty owner, who helped us getting around and allowed us to have a wonderful experience. There are different rooms. Ours did the pictures justice. Oh and an Onsen of course!

The only problem is that the shower is only in onsen, that has to be booked in advance so that they can heat the water for the shower. Usually not a problem, but still some limitation.

everything, especially the staff, it was too rude. we were late an hour for the check in, the staff called us and spoke to us rudely and charge are 4000 yen when overtime working is 1500. I really didn’t like the customer service. it’s written it’s a private onsen but everyone uses it, we just don’t use it together. I booked it for my family, my family hated it, they were even uncomfortable to take a bath. so it was my worst experience from booking.com. actually worst experience ever.

The owner of the place is defensive and it is hard to communicate with her. I had made a mistake on the booking and as much as I understand that it is my fault, it was quite stressful to get the booking changed, and confirm the change. She also loves to sit and blame the issue on some other entity other than herself. The baths are fine, however, there are definitely some other hot springs that have been cleaner in my experience.

The place is right next to the railway system. However, it is recommended to make sure to get to Hakone in the afternoon since the last bus leaves at 19.00 and can be inconvenient to get there.

Amazing stay, the owner was very nice and extremely welcoming. She gave us great tips about how to enjoy the region. The onsen's (traditional japanese bath) water comes directly from Owakudani, therefore making it the best way to continue enjoying your day after a visit of this volcano. Plus, you get a private onsen so that you don't have to share your bath with strangers. Thanks for everything !
