Location would be inconvenient without renting a car. However, the property was clear in their intro email that renting a car was the best option.

Great service, modern and clean cottage, perfect for 2 if you are going to cook , if more will sleep there is not a lot of room in the kitchen area. Everything else was perfect! Thank you for the lovely home made desserts!!

We loved everything! The cottage is really great, the hot tub on the balcony is soo nice and the staff is awesome! They went beyond and above and we felt really welcome here! We even got a daily local surprise which was really great and delicious! The location was perfect for us, not in the city and you could enjoy the island and the quiet surrounding. I would recommend to go by car as we felt this make it more convenient (but maybe only personal preference). All in all, we can only recommend staying here when visiting Yakushima.

Amazing view of the water. Outdoor bathtub was sublime. Staff left a complimentary dessert in our room every afternoon when we got back from hiking, made from local fruits with a personal story to go along with it.

We had a wonderful stay and it was the perfect base for us to explore the island. The owner was so helpful with advice about car rental before we arrived. The desserts made with local fruits were delicious and very appreciated after a day of hiking. Loved the private deck and bath. We would definitely stay here again if we come back for a visit!

There was an unpleasant fishy smell that wafted in from outside occasionally, but it wasn’t unbearable and we assume it was temporary. We would recommend the supply of different towels, as the microfibre towels supplied were a little small, clung to your skin and weren’t too good for drying.

We were greeted by a lovely host, hibiscus and hydrangea in the entrance foyer and on the beds, and delicious, freshly squeezed fruit juice upon arrival. The unit was clean, with a nice decking area, unique outdoor bath and views towards the sea. Twin beds downstairs, and a futon set up in an open area upstairs for our daughter. Kitchenette ideal to prepare our own meals. Added bonus of a desert made of local fruit provided on our second day, which was a lovely touch.

I’m not sure if it was mentioned in the description and i just missed it, but I hadn’t realised when booking that using the futon bedding in the loft was an extra 500¥ (per person if i recall correctly). This is extremely minor, though - I’m not marking down any of my scores for it. We just slept on the western style beds downstairs, which were super comfy!

Absolutely stunning place! Large cottage overlooking the water, with unit bath inside and a beautiful outdoor tub on the deck! This was an amazing base for our nights on the island. Staff were just wonderful, providing comprehensive tourist information, and personal recommendations based on our planned itinerary. I wholeheartedly recommend this location, and would not hesitate to re-book if we visit Yakushima again in the future.

Loved everything

This little place was paradise, beautiful view of the water, trees, mountains, and our room had a balcony which we could watch the sunrise from. There was also an outdoor bath, but we didn't end up using it. We stayed for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. It's about 40 minutes drive from the Miyanoura Port and about 10-15 minutes drive from the Anbo port. A car is recommended, as its not really walking distance from any food places or convenience stores. There is a yummy gelato shop next door though! And you can park right outside of your cottage. Driving up to the cottage, you might almost miss it. There's a pink house right in front of it, but the turn into the cottages is right before that where there is a little sign that said "Fairy". Each day, we were supposed to be out of the room by 9am so they could clean it, and they often left us a treat like mousse and fresh hibiscus flowers. Having to leave early may not be ideal for everyone, but it meant we were out earlier so we could do more things in our day. The bed was super comfortable, best sleep I've had in a while, and the area was so quiet. We had a chicken come visit us 3 out of the 4 mornings there, which was a delight.

The property though comfortable is showing some signs of wear and tear. The sofa in our unit was ripped in a couple of places. The acoustics like in many places in Japan were not great so we could hear our neighbours but at night it was extremely quiet.

Lovely self-catering unit with private decking/sitting area perfect to watch the sunset and enjoy the hot tub. The twin beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having a small kitchen. The young girl at the reception spoke perfect English and was very helpful. We definitely recommend this place in Yakushima. You need a car though to get around.

Very clean. Pretty spacious. Lovely tub outside that was great to soak in. Good location - close to Anbo and other little towns, not a far drive from Miyanoura. The ladies left homemade desserts in the fridge each day which was incredible.

Conveniently located, decent-sized cottage with a great view. The host was incredibly nice, prepared flowers upon our arrival and brought us freshly made refreshments every day. The traditional outdoor bathtub was definitely the highlight of my stay.
