Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanLimited parking, need to look for payed parking around the hotel, no action even I had made advance request for car parking. Expected western style breakfast to some extent but it was pure Japanese.
Supportive staff, I liked the room and all the facilities. Welcome drink, vending machines and massage chair etc. are bonus and made my stay relaxed. Located on main road and easily accessible. I recommend and good hotel to stay in Hamamatsu.

CanadaThe area was very busy but there wasn't much to do as a tourist. It was also a bit difficult finding a nice place to eat nearby.
The hotel was very spacious and the bed was comfortable, the staff were happy to help and answer my questions. The hotel was very easy to find and is relatively close to Hamamatsu's major station.

JapanThere is no store around the hotel. It takes 7 or 8 min by slow walking to reach nearest store. But, in case any one comes to the hotel by a car, it's convenient location.
Thanks for the upgrade! It was excellent room; very clean, enough size and luxurious furnitures. Breakfast was also nice, there are many choices and good taste.

United KingdomWe booked a standard double room. Smallish, but for some reason had a huge, worn-looking office chair that wouldn’t fit under the desk and it was a struggle to get past it. Not a comfortable space. We’d booked a non-smoking room but it smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and we discovered (from the hotel plan in the elevator) that ours was a smoking floor… Not great. Even the pillows stank. The room was really dark at night - lighting is minimal - which in addition to the brown wall, made the place feel quite uncomfortable. Yes there is air con, as advertised, but unfortunately the temperature is centrally set and all you can change is the fan speed. It was stuffy. Bathroom had a strange, not quite fresh smell…
The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Location is pretty good - within a reasonable walking distance from Hamamatsu Station, and close to shops, restaurants etc. There were plenty of amenities provided in the lobby area, and it was nice to have tea and coffee already provided in the room. Breakfast was good, with a selection of Japanese and Western dishes.

LatviaI liked the courteous staff. The facilities were great as well, given that the hotel has vending machines that you can use as well, with drinks also being available on the first floor near the reception. Breakfast was decent with the traditional Japanese style breakfast being available. The hotel is not too far from the main train station which is always a bonus.

JapanThe room is tiny and the bed is small. We were traveling with an infant, no cot available, no room to put it in! The stroller BARELY fit in the room. All in all, typical room for business travelers, don't recommend for leisure trips, definitely not with children.
The staff was very nice, the breakfast is abundant and quite varied. The hotel parking is small BUT the staff has a map with all the available parkings in the vicinity, with prices, and we ended up paying less for 1 day coin parking. Recommended if traveling by car.

JapanThe room we stayed was really clean and the hotel's location was within a very good distance to either city center where the main train station was. Good restaurants nearby to have local foods and drinks. Great place to stay if you are visiting Hamamatsu.

SingaporeI wasn’t able to get a non-smoking room when I asked and had to tolerate the stale smell of cigarettes in the room the entire trip. That was the most unpleasant part. Also, note that this hotel is a very old building and so the facilities are also dated. There is a lot of dust in corners of the hotel and the lighting was very orange (no white lights). The shower curtain was also very annoying and keeps sticking to me when I showered.
The bed was very comfortable and I slept thru well coz of it, location was decently close to the station. Though they didn’t give bottled mineral water in the room, they did have a soft drink bar that you could get water and drinks from which was nice.
