Location, quite and spacious

The property location was really near our destination attraction and it's near with the station or even bus stop so it was make us easy to transport when we were in Hakone. And because before us there was no one booked the property, so we can check in even at 11.30 AM to put our luggage. The host was very helpful.

A little far from main sights in Hakone, but a good value for a large group. Not the cleanest place, but functional.

The location is in a quiet area, so making too much noise at night can be heard by your neighbors. They have thin walls and you might get unlucky and see a centipede! There is no reception or front desk, so if you're a tourist trying to go around Hakone, I would recommend going to a different Hotel where there are front desk staffs or have a Japanese friend in Hakone tour you around!

It wasn't too far from all of the attractions in the area. If anything, you can also access the train if you are confused by how the busses work. It was cheap and efficient. Recommended for people who are familiar with Japan's lifestyle. The apartment is pretty wide and there are two toilet rooms so you can almost never worry about having to wait for someone to finish with their business!

There is just one bath inside the house, but nearby you can find several onsen. There was no shampoo in the bathroom.

We had a great family weekend with our friends. The house fully met our expectations. We had everything needed. The communication with the host was easy and he answered all small questions that we had.

The house guide was not in English and directions were very confusing (It IS right where Google maps/Booking.com says it is, though), we got there at night and it was hard to find. There wasn't parking and closest place was a few blocks away. The house could have been a little cleaner. No coffeemaker, but an electric kettle.

HUGE house for a fraction of what other places/hotels cost, great for our large family. Beds were plentiful and comfy. Close to all Hakone attractions. Updated bathrooms (great toilets!). Lots of dishes and cookware, no spices/pantry staples though. Most appliances had English directions.

There could be more basic things in the kitchen like oil and tea bags. There could be more detailed instructions for the equipment, like air conditioning and hot water, but the owner helped us figure out what we didn't know. Don't expect a view because Ohiradai village is in a valley, but it is surrounded by beautiful forests.

It was great to have a large private house all to ourselves. It was clean and pleasant, the kitchen was well equipped, and it's easy to get everywhere around the Hakone area by bus or train. For railway enthusiasts, you can easily walk to two of the railway switchbacks. There's a convenience store next to Ohiradai station (a 2-minute walk) and a few more stores at a 10-minute bus ride. The owner was available for questions and helped us operate the equipment.

in restroom didn't work waterflow for washhands. one of aircondtoner,Panasonic, was not operate property after setting timer off. it was better being washbowl in the bathroom.

My family consisted of 3 adults and 2 children. We got this house because there was plenty of space advertised. We showed up and the house was freezing, we could see our breath. We all picked out our rooms and turned on the heaters. The breaker kept tripping and we couldn’t seem to heat up the house without the electricity constantly going out. We called the owners to help us. They stayed for over an hour in the late evening while we were all wearing winter coats. After not being able to fix the electricity problem, they told us to all huddle in one room and to use blankets. That night was absolutely freezing in the house. In the morning, we noticed there are many holes in the insulation and told them about it. They said no one ever complained before and that we must be spoiled and pampered to think it was that cold. They argued with me for hours and told me they will only agree to give me a partial refund if I don’t leave them a bad feedback. Insane.

The house is gorgeous. It had many bedrooms and bathrooms, lots of space for everyone.

I can imagine the place is not super easy to find at night (reading other reviews) but for us it was really easy, we had a video showing how to get there, and the host inform us well how to get there and which bus and stop to take.

The apartment was big and affordable. Amenities were good and the owner was very nice and helpful.

First of all, the place was extremely overpriced. It was difficult to find. The check-in process was handled very poorly. The owner was extremely difficult to deal with. He asked me to send him pictures of our ID’s as part of “COVID mitigation”. We drove hours away from our home and my kids were extremely exhausted and starving when we arrived. If it wasn’t for them, I would’ve have found a different place to stay because there’s no way on Earth I’m sending pictures of our identification cards to a stranger. Once we checked in, the place was clean but not clean enough because we found crazy amount of black ants in front of one of the rooms. Overall, it was the worst the experience ever, horrible customer service, and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The place has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home.

we were locked out of the accommodation for 2 hours, no one to let us in. extremely isolated and unsafe access to property. would not recommend staying here.

Beds and pillows weren’t too comfy. Not a lot of extra space in our room other than the beds, but the hosts made us feel very welcome in the main living area.

the staff was okay incredibly kind and helpful. They were accommodating with meal times and provided us with extra sheets/ towels upon request. They were fluent in English which made everything easier for us and the food was remarkable! I would recommend this property to anyone.
