Long stay travelers will feel the lack of storage space in the room. The lobby bar is a bit austere.

Would be nice to have more appetiser variety (every night was the same). I would’ve loved to extend my stay, but the price was disproportionate to my original booking (especially when compared to the Ritz-Carlton, etc).

The balcony suite was stunning, and we didn’t want to leave. The bar is also nice with a lot of great drinks for guest consumption, with some interesting appetisers!

The only thing is the bar stops serving at 8:30 and we had thought it was 9 (as that is what is said on the card), and after a full day of sightseeing was a bit too early for us, we managed to use about 10min of it out of the 3 nights we stayed there.

Everything! The room was very comfortable and large with a super king size bed, all amenities and quiet. The station was just outside the hotel and situated in a perfectly central location.

Not that much of an issue for us, but something to consider - hotel is about 15-20 min walk from Pontocho, and surrounding areas. We did a lot of walking, so we didn’t mind.

We loved our stay at the Royal Park Hotel in Kyoto. The room was perfect, bathroom was modern too. They had a self service laundry facility, which is so useful for us as we were already a week into our Japan trip. When we arrived for check-in, the staff were so welcoming, informative and helpful. They took the time to explain the facilities available. This was such a refreshing experience after our last hotel in Japan, so we appreciated it.

The location was a little out of the action. We knew this when we booked, and so we walked / caught trains everywhere. it was easy.

Super clean hotel. Very spacious and new. Loved the hotel onsen. I wanted to try one whilst in Japan and having one in the hotel was super easy. And using the hotel supplied PJs and slippers was great. The complementary drinks and nibblies each night were a lovely touch.

Location was great for our needs (senior couple wanting to catch some of the sights but also do some shopping). Convenient but not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Great shopping and nice restaurants nearby. Kyoto Station was about 3 kms away. Staff were obliging and helpful

The location was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly beyond expectations. The lounge was a lovely place to gather and have drinks before going out for dinner. The home theatre system was nice. The laundry was convenient.

Street noise at times was loud, laundry facilities limited to 2 laundromats for the entire hotel, not many restaurants near the hotel.

Nothing - cannot fault the place.

Breakfast was a mix between Italian and Japanese cuisine - sounds odd but it was extremely enjoyable. The location was absolutely perfect. Staff fabulous. They had public baths on site for guests to use to experience authentic Japanese culture. Could not have picked a more perfect place to stay.
