Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaI think you need to make more facilitiee available inside the rooms. Like I didnt get a toothbrush and toothpaste inside the room. No bumwashers either. Bathrooms were just okayish compared to other 5 star hotels. More amenities in the bathroom needed
The views were absolutely crazy. Staff was very helpful.

The staff made me feel like home. I travelled alone but Ann, Diana , Sylvia were so friendly with me, I did not feel lonely at all. I made friends instead. Levis exactly knew where to find all the wild animals.

Kenyathe reception staff could be a bit more lively. They seemed a bit off. Otherwise all round very good!!!!
Loved the Service of the staff. The driver Paul was amazing. The wait staff were brilliant. Jacinta, Jackson, Kelly, Edwin etc were so good to us. Chef Evans Was accommodating and fun. The Game drives were detailed and good. The hot-air balloon ride was a once in a lifetime thing. Cant even describe it. And the elephant that came to our window in the dead of night really made things interesting. Overall 9/10

United KingdomWe had booked a double room but there were three single beds in our room - which meant space was rather limited in the room. However, we do appreciate we were given a room close to the dining/main reception area which meant my mother did not have to walk more than necessary to get to places within Mara Serena. The other quibble we had was there were quite a few brown spots on the shower curtain in the bathroom and the sink was also cracked quite badly - which we would not have expected in a lodge of this quality. Wifi in room was not available.
Communal areas were exceptional - and the views were stunning from both our room and communal areas. As my mother is a senior citizen, check-in staff gave us a room that was as close to the dining room as possible - which was much appreciated. All the staff were very friendly and service throughout the property was exceptional. Bernard, who looked after our room, checked on us every evening to ensure everything was as expected. The staff in the dining area took really good care of my mother and we also enjoyed the buffet food selection at Mara Serena - hence compliments to the chef.

United KingdomOnly one thing the park gate keeper told us that the ticket you are buying will cover your game ride which hotel reception confirmed it on arrival but in the morning when I was about to jump into the safari jeep they said no you don't have booking and you have to book with us for an extra cost. That I didn't like it because the night before they were saying something but next morning it was different.
The location of the hotel was great staff was amazing and friendly. Food was awesome. Facilities were great at that remote location.

SpainRooms are a bit too tight (small), although very well equipped and comfortable.
The views from all the property, including directly from the room balcony, are fantastic. Common places of the site are also very attractive. Buffet meals very good, same as personnel, very well trained to deal with guests. The area is excellent for game viewing, you hear lion and hyena roaring at night. Very good sightings just out of the gate.

KenyaRooms are on the small side and the buffet food is a bit repetitive. You have to pay for water when there could easily be a refill station in the lobby.
The location is perfect - right on a bluff overlooking the Masai Mara Reserve. The rooms were impeccably clean and situated so you feel like you have your own mini cabin. The game drives can be arranged right at the lodge. The air strip is 5 minutes away.

The dining was awesome. The room was nice but the internal colours too busy. The balcony doors couldn't open fully cause the sliding tracks are blocked by sand. The spa was nice but resting beds too squized. All wildlife except rhinos were within short distance from the property

Kenyaa. In the main restaurant, staff take away plates from each person in the group too quick;ly.... b. The pathways, though beautiful and cultural, are hard for the elderly to walk on.

EgyptThe food was below average, which was a big disappointment cause everything else was perfect. I wasn't able to eat alot, the pasta was over-cooked, the fish was dry, the meat was very chewy and low quality. It was surprising to me since that hotel is pretty expensive and in return you should find good food quality
I loved the friendliness of all the staff at the hotel. The view of the room was gorgeous overlooking the whole of Masai Mara and might be one of the best views I've seen in my life
