Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- The free laundry service wasn't great, some of our items returned to us shrunk
- Location inside conservatory makes it easy to spot and get close to ALL the animals during game drives - Our driver Erick was the best! - Incredibly friendly and accommodating team (Caleb, Erick, George, Rotiken!) - Amazing food for breakfast, lunch and dinner - this really adds to the experience - Beautiful, luxurious and clean rooms (you can hear the animals at night) - Incredible massages by Lenet! - The activities offered (balloon ride, walking safari's, village visit)

A full fledged 5* experience in the middle of the wilderness (Maara). Dominic and his team were very accommodating to all our needs and also comped us upto a better room and mostly a private safari and dining as we were honeymooning. Special mention to Moses and David, the restaurant managers and their team including Ben, Reagen, Hezron, Kelvin and all others. My wife is vegetarian and they went out of their way to make sure she was looked after and had plenty of delicious options. Chef David made every meal special and Moses and his team make sure everyone is well fed! Our safari guide, Danson left no stone unturned to show us all that the Maara had to offer. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife there, quick facts and ofcourse his driving over the rugged surrounds. All in all, the experience was very catered to our needs and we could not have asked for a more memorable stay!

Belgium- A bit expensive during high season (but probably the price for exclusivity) - The bathroom should be renovated
- Kindness of the staff - The fact that everything is included in the rate (meals, drinks, game drives, airstrip transfers…) - The space in the room - The very well organised game drives - Architecture of common spaces - Quality of the food

Outstanding, exceptional safari experience, that beats all possible expectations and make you feel privileged with private and tailored service from the first arrival moment till leaving this paradise. Highly welcoming, hospital and professional personnel that made it reality. If any doubts and tons of research you made - don’t waste your time. It is simply worth it, every penny. Highly recommended

United KingdomJustna small observation is that the memorial tree planting spoils the setting. Instead of plaques there could be small numbers and lists of the tree type, donor and message available to those that are interested- to make it more like a park than a cemetery.
We loved our suite with its own plunge pool overlooking the River- all 200sqm of it! The staff were excellent, from Kennedy quietly arranging surprise events for us and facilitating every request, through the guides and trackers to the dining and cleaning staff - all professional and well trained. Food exceeded our five star expectation. All facilities were meticulously clean and well maintained. All inclusive meant just that - no surprises like other lodges we have been to. The massages were the best we've had in Kenya. Thank you all so much, we look forward to returning.

United KingdomIt would have been helpful to have been on check in to have been given a clear idea of the options available. EG we only found out from another couple two days in that it was possible to have a ‘bush breakfast’ rather than eat at the restaurant. This alternative option was very good, not least because it extended the length of the morning safari
The rooms, communal areas, food and staff were all excellent. Our guide (Eric) was exceptionally knowledgeable.

United KingdomThe whole experience was amazing. We had a tent that overlooked a lake area that was full with hippos and wildlife! The tents are very luxurious and Paul was amazing in looking after our tent. Olare is situated in the conservatory so the game drives are very intimate with a much lower amount of vehicle compared to the Mara park, we saw so much! Whilst the location and facilities were amazing the staff made the trip. Dominic and the team were exceptional, catering to our every need, always making sure we had everything we needed and the chef is amazing! The food is great and we had an outside dinner on our final night with no shortage of drinks available! Thanks to everyone that made our trip so special. Asante 🙏🏻

United StatesI would try to avoid the hippopotamus tent if you're a light sleeper.
This was a fantastic place to go on safari in the Masai Mara. It was a beautiful location, surrounded by animals, many of which wandered the camp at night. The game drives were very good, lots of information given. We saw everything we wanted to see. The tents are well equipped and comfortable. We had the farthest one away from the lodge but never felt worried or scared by the animals roaming around.

I would like to give 10 of 10 for hospitality and the service of all Olare Mara Kempinski Resort. Were amazing few days stay where game drives, sunsets and sunrises were marvelous thanks to the great staff of Olare Mara. Also, one and only experience was flying over the vast plain of Masai Mara covered by hundred thousand wildebeests and other animals of the African savannah. We were literally in the middle of great migration one of the natural wonders of the world. Even if 24 hours before many of these gorgeous animals crossed the Mara river and went to Serengeti, somehow just as nature knows they change their plans and back on the Masai Mara plains. Big thank you to the Olare Mara Kempinski team that never say no to any of my requests.

This is by far the best accommodation anyone can fina in Kenia. It is located within Masai Mara Reserve, so it's the only five starts hotel than can offer the convenience of waking up and taking a safari right away because you are already in it. Not only the hotel is luxurious as hell -wherever you come from-, but the stuff is so devoted, dedicated to make your stay so so easy ana fun without being too heavy on the guests. The tents should not be even called like that cos' they are so perfect to the last detail. And the food and drinks are high quality. Everything is. This is one in a lifetime experiences you can have so don't doubt to take this accommodation over any other because it's worth every cent you pay and, in fact, it is cheap for how much you get. Thanks to everyone who attended us for making this our yet best travel we have had. Recommended a 100%, by someone picky as hell.
