“The location is right next to Talek Gate for the national Park and along the River. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They will try to accommodate all your requests as far as possible. “In the end we didn’t stay at Mara Intrepids but at the sister camp Mara Ilatia in the Mara Triangle. We got moved because the Talek river had bust its banks, leading to terrible flooding. It was done completely seamlessly and the company even changed our flights for us. An absolutely amazing service in the middle of an incredibly challenging time dealing with a disaster. Mara Ilatia was stunning and the service was second to none. Special shout out to our amazing guide Alex, and Collins and the team at the camp who looked after us so well. “We stayed in this lodge with my sister. The man at the reception was so kind - he upgraded us to the room with a view over the river and that completely changed the whole experience: being so close to hippos was absolutely wonderful. We could hear them at night even, magical! And at night we also saw elephants and giraffes coming to the river, literally at the gate of the camp - it was splendid. Excellent location for a safari in Masai Mara.”
“Staff were incredibly friendly, especially the girls in the restaurant. And the two cooks too. Great food and plenty of it as well. Easy to take a breakfast or a lunch with you if wanna leave for an early or a whole day safari. We made reservations for a room, but got offered a tent, which we gladly took as the room looked not as comfy as the tent (warm, small windows without insectscreens).
Hippos, crocs and kingfishers in river next to lodge. Even an elephant dropped by.
