Rooms could go with an upgrade. As does the swimmingpool aera, allthough just a clean up might do the trick there already.

Staff were incredibly friendly, especially the girls in the restaurant. And the two cooks too. Great food and plenty of it as well. Easy to take a breakfast or a lunch with you if wanna leave for an early or a whole day safari. We made reservations for a room, but got offered a tent, which we gladly took as the room looked not as comfy as the tent (warm, small windows without insectscreens). Hippos, crocs and kingfishers in river next to lodge. Even an elephant dropped by. Definetely worth a stay.

It is a Bush Camp, so showers are not the strongest and the warmest. It can get warm in the bungalows at times. But we didn’t mind! It is located in one of the best spots of Masai Mara and it was definitely comfy enough for us. A suggestion: maybe some people would like the option to share the game drives to split costs if they have an expensive holiday ahead.

What a dream stay at Talek Bush Camp, we simply couldn’t wish for anything better!!! This price quality/ratio is one of the best we’ve ever got. The food is made with love and it tastes simply amazing, they offer all meals, drinking water, and even packed lunch and breakfast for the game drives. The options for game drives are AMAZING, great rates and you get to sit alone in the car (this is rare!). The drivers are super experienced and bring you to the hidden spots before everyone else arrives. The staff is also super friendly and attentive, and they all make you feel at home. The swimming pool is also beautiful and relaxing after a long day.

    Nothing!

The Talek Bush Camp has the best staff I've ever encountered. They upgraded my room for free, the food was great and they make anything you want if you ask them. They also pack it for you if you want to eat in the reserve, breakfast and lunch for you and your driver. Everything was included and they really go that extra mile for you to ensure you're comfortable. Highly recommended!

The location is right next to Talek Gate for the national Park and along the River. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They will try to accommodate all your requests as far as possible. Thank you Valentina and Simon. The food options are limited but everything that is there is plenty and very good. A shoutout to the Chef. The rooms offer everything that you need for a stay of this kind.

Remote, quiet property, and quite wild! We loved it! The journey to get to it was quite an experience, too! The staff and the owner was very friendly and gave us lots of tips to spotting wildlife. There was some wildlife on the property too!

considering the location, everything was great. being in the nature surrounded by animals iwas a magical experience. i would suggest to implement the draining system.

Mustafa the manager was very kind to upgrade us in a bigger tent than the one we booked. we loved the food as it was very delicious and tasty. Super! the staff was always kind and the security guard always escorts you to the tent to avoid baboons attack 😅. the camp itself is located about 2 minutes from Talek Gate which is a plus since is outside. then you pay the park just when you enter. they can suggest you a second road to avoid paying the gate just to reach the camp. hot water for the shower is guaranteed.

This is not the property’s fault but the animals can be loud at night - lots of moneys around. I would recommend to bring some ear plugs just in case

The location was perfect, right outside one of the gates of the park. The staff was EXTREMELY nice and kind and helpful. The food was AMAZING, the chef really knows what he is doing. The manager was also very helpful. We got the family tent and it was really nice, comfortable and clean. It is so well located that you can see baboons, hippos, crocodiles, gazelles and many other animals from the camp. I would definitely come back.

    Nothing. Everything was great.

I can’t even explain how happy we are with our stay in Talek Bush camp. We booked it at the very last minute and I was not sure what to expect as we never slept in this kind of safari tent before. Everyone was so nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The tents were really specious and with enough space in between to provide some comfort and privacy. We arrived just before dinner time around 19 o’clock and we were served the food immediately. We stayed for two nights and both dinners were delicious and with a lot of vegetarian options. For the two days, we had our breakfast and lunch packed and we had a picnic inside the park while watching the wildlife around. It was just magical. The location is perfect just outside the Talek gate, so you don’t have to travel a lot early in the morning to enter the park. We had a problem with the guide that we booked before our arrival and we ended up having no guide for the next day at 22 o’clock. We called the owner Mustafa late in the evening, asking him if he could help us somehow. He not only picked up the phone despite the late hour but he also arranged a guide for us immediately and it turned out to be the best experience we had so far. Our new guide did the impossible to find us all of the big cats and we even saw all the big five in one single day in the park. if you happen to be there on Friday night they also have a cultural night around the campfire with Masai people explaining about their culture and dancing. We would be very happy to come back again if we have the chance. Just a perfect stay.

Friendly staff, exactly as described, excellent tour guide and excellent Safari experience. I couldn’t believe how close we actually were to the Talek gate and to the river. Beautiful view every morning. Everything was clean and hot water was available. Our safari tour guide Jackson really made a great experience for us. We would 100% come back to this camp and would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Maasai Mara

    Great experience, more than expected

I don't judge it completely negatively, but it is definitely something to improve. This is about the stability of the power supply, which is apparently powered by an external generator and shuts down/drops quite often. And every morning it turned off very early, despite the fact that it was still dark or dim. But I repeat, it is not something that should in any way disqualify the otherwise perfect services of this camp.

For my needs and expectations, everything was fulfilled, even beyond the measure and initial expectations. The location of the campsite is great, right next to a river full of life (hippo, crocodile, lots of birds and Dik-Dik antelope right in the campsite, ...). The camp staff is just as wonderful as the food offerings. Comfort and equipment in the tent are more than enough for me. The possibility to charge the batteries and even the reach of the wifi signal, which is otherwise only available in the common areas of the camp. The campsite is very close to the Talek entrance gate, so it's really just a short off-road drive to the Masai Mara reserve. No more than 2-3 minutes. Drinking water is available all day and you can take it in your own bottles, even for a day-long game drive expedition. That is a very nice offer. Likewise, the attitude of Mustafa, the owner of the campsite, is very great! I definitely recommend this campsite and I definitely want to come back to it again in the future. However, what could definitely be improved is the stability of the power supply, which is apparently powered by an external generator and has been switching off/dropping quite often. And every morning it turned off very early, despite the fact that it was still dark or dim.

The drought affected a few things, mainly sewerage and water supply, not the fault of the campsite, but there were occasional very bad smells from the plumbing and lack of water to pump things through. It would be good to have the opportunity to share game drives, as the costs are high.

This was a fantastic place and very highly recommended. While it is expensive, it is one of the most economical options, and we found it a wonderful experience, and were really very pleased we had chosen this place for many reasons. The location could hardly be improved on, right around a bend of the Talek River which hosts crocodiles, hippos, baboons, we even saw hyena, warthogs and elephants from the camp. The camp is an extremely well designed site, with two main sections, the Bush Camp with luxury tents, and the Riverside Camp with lovely cabins which open up facing the river, and feel very private, which we were in. There is a restaurant in each area which keeps it small and personal. It is just outside the official Talek Gate to the Masai Mara which keeps costs down as you have to pay the exhorbitant government entrance fee (set to more than double next year) every time you pass the Gate, so you can watch the animals on the Masai Mara side of the river while in the camp and standing outside your own cabin or tent. We could hear the baboons and other creatures at night, and the rooms (we had a large cabin) were really comfortable with big beds and mosquito nets over the four posters which was cosy. The site is fairly small and really has a family feel. The staff, mostly from the Masai tribe, are so warm and friendly, and that the camp and owners really support the Masai tribe means its one of the most ethical and authentic experiences in the Masai Mara where many expensive camps exploit the local tribes and don't put profits back into the Masai Communities whose land it really is but who were pushed off when the National Park was created.

The site is very nice and located next to river where we could watch hippos and many other animals. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food is great. The cooks even surprised my wife with a plate of local food she was asking for the day before. The reception organized good drivers for our Safari and for the transfer. We definately recommend this camp and would choose it again next time.

Food was very tasty all 3 days, service was excellent, facilities pretty clean and well maintained, location is just by the entry gate, swimming pool available and clean, animals around (monkeys, crocodile in the river, even a hippo passed by the camp!). Additionally, a friend of mine needed to come a day later than booked and the bill was adapted accordingly...really outstanding behaviour!!

Everything was perfect.. but remember guys you will be in the middle of the safari so don’t expect a 5 start hotel.. enjoy the nature that’s around you.

Location was amazing. Only 30 mins drive from Keekorok airport. The owner, Mustafa, gave us the option of the cabins or the tent. We chose the tent as it was more authentic.. we done a half day safari and a full day safari.. the drivers were very professional and we saw 4 of the big 5… the staff are so attentive and they bend over backwards to help you out.. the first day we got there late but they still made us lunch. They pack you a packed lunch when you go on a safari.. highly recommend Talek bush camp

    Everything perfect!

Can’t find words for this place. Amazing retreat with wooden huts and luxury tents that just seem to fit in with all the green that is around. When arriving you’ll be greeted by bands of baboons and vervet monkeys that play around in the trees and meerkats. Make sure to stay at bush camp, not riverside lodge (same place but bush camp is more green). The staff is amazingly friendly and I mean in a way that just seems so authentic, not a put on smile like in other places. Food is fantastic and among the best meals we had during our travel in Kenya! We took 2 full day game drives with great driver and guide who would do there best to meet my needs as a photographer (go but forth and back for angles) and never being to pushy for the animals we found. Which is not always the case, some drivers of other places were just too careless with their environment.
