How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Wish the beds had a curtain but the top bunk I stayed in are like half blocked by a wall so it was all good

This is not a bad thing, but this is very much a social guesthouse for extroverts, it’s a great place for making friends and having someone to hang out with constantly and party every night. But if you are an introvert, it might not be your coup of tea.
Workers are so helpful and sweet. the hosts are very strict with the rules, which really helped maintain a comfortable, clean, and safe environment. Very friendly people.

The rooms and kitchen are a bit small, but that wasn’t a problem for me actually. Nothing to complain.
This is definitely one of the best hostels I've ever been to. Jina and Bryan are incredibly kind and welcoming. It is perfect for solo travelers and people open to make new friends.

Great location, Bryan and Jina are exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Made me feel at ease immediately. Hostel is great for solo travelling, this was my first time and it couldn’t have gone better.

The location was excellent - close to all restaurants and nightlife/train station. The facilities and free breakfast were good. But what really sets this hostel apart from the rest that I have stayed with is the involvement of the hosts - very chilled, friendly and helpful. Offered recommendations in person and in the group chat on WhatsApp. The atmosphere was very family like and the common room and group chat was very sociable. Easy to meet new people and make dinner plans or activities during the day. Overall, I would highly recommend for solo travellers. Thanks Jina, Bryan and Jay and the rest of the ZZZIP guesthouse team. Your efforts are appreciated!

Everything was great but they don’t take card, so you’ll need to pay by cash.
Very social, people generally met downstairs for a beer or two each evening and went out for dinner after. Was really nice to meet people so easily.

Its not cheap for a guesthouse but you do get a lot for your money.
The staff, especially Jina and Bryan were super helpful with recommendations in Seoul and South Korea overall. This was super helpful as I didnt have to do all the planning myself but could rely on the proven knowledge the hosts. The guesthouse had a great atmosphere to get to know other travellers and do activities together Location was great for going out and food as Hongdae is a very vibrant and young part of town. Facilities were nice and clean, the showerhead was the best Ive ever experienced.

The best hostel you could wish for, made me feel right at home. It's very close to the main street of Hongdae as well as Han river. The group chat for everyone staying there is a great feature, always quite active, not to mention everyday recommendations on what to see and where to go. Jina and Bryan are amazing at paying individual attention to each of the guests and helping them with whatever they need. I'm going to miss them and can't wait to be back, hopefully very soon. ^^

The property was excellent. A special shoutout to Jina and Bryaan. They were the soul of the hostel. The vibe was great and it was a big big family. The atmosphere was awesome. Most travellers were second or third timers in the hostel that says a lot about the place.

I looked under the bed mattress and there was a plane ticket from many months ago. It made me feel like they changed the sheets, but didn’t thoroughly clean
The group chat was incredible and the hostel is set up to make friends! It made the difference between being completely alone and having the option of going out to dinner or to see something with others most days. I would 100% come back to this place

Bryan and Jina were both extremely helpful, The people and just the vibes, The location is great. Bed and room were honestly better than i expected I even felt a little bit ill because of the flight and the staff were just so caring making sure I still have a good stay.
