Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hans House was clean and comfortable. Very close to the Subway, which was handy for us to travel to different places and come back with no issues. The host is very helpful and attentive - he gave us maps and suggested the best places to visit and where to eat.

GuamThe location was great. Just a couple of minutes away from Gyeongbokgung Palace, bus station and the food alley. The owner was awesome, very nice and very helpful. Highly recommended! We spent Christmas Eve at the house and Mr. Han gave us rice cake and fruits. A sweet gesture that we really appreciate. My kids enjoyed playing at the garden as well especially during the snowfall on Christmas Day.

United StatesThere was nothing that we didnt like.It can be hard to find when you first arrive and the owner tried very hard to help. When you arrive on public transportation, we would suggest that you look for or google the Paris Baguette - which is right near the main road to get to his neighborhood OR to google the SEJONG VILLAGE FOOD STREET. Then the photos that Han sends are more helpful. Once you know the way, it is easy!
The location was really lovely. It was quiet at the house and just around the corner from many restaurants and sights (like the palace). The owner was very helpful. The rooms are basic and the beds were super comfortable. You also have access to the kitchen for coffee and fruit.

Canada- Bedroom across ours does not have a washroom. It is a room for 4 people and they went to the washroom in the hall beside our room and as a light sleeper, my wife had a hard time sleeping because of the noise of closing bedroom door and washroom door. - As mentioned in the positive side of things, there is a kitchen but you cannot use it to cook.
- Mr Han is very helpful when asking for help/information. - Location is great, central to historical sites. - You have privacy in the ground floor and there is a kitchen where you can use a microwave oven and boil water. - One minute from the food street which has many restaurants you can try.

GermanyMy room was beside the kitchen and any noise of people coming in was very loud and when people do laundry it shook the entire room and was very loud. Unfortunately people decided to do laundry at 10pm. There should be a sign not allowing this at night!
Great location and the owner is very very nice and helpful. Cute little garden.

AustraliaNothing was an issue for me. Room was basic but it was everything I expected and needed. A tiny suggestion would be an umbrella you could borrow at front door.
The location was excellent close to metro and bus stop from airport. Close to the palaces and other areas I just walked everywhere. Communication was easy and whilst I initially failed on following the photos and map sent by Mr Han I eventually made it via some nice alley ways. I have added my photo walk up food street from subway exit 2 as per Mr Hans look for the sign 181 (photo) The food street has some amazing authentic food options. I found a tiny little coffee shop yellow colouring with succulents in window I was treated amazingly. Room value for money in middle of Seoul and love fact my money was going directly to locals and I got to know them a little bit.

Russia-
our stay at Hans House was absolutely amazing — the owner, Han, is an incredibly nice and caring person, he provided us with a lot of info about Seoul and the surrounding neighbourhood and gave us his recommendations. the location is even better than great — it’s a nice quite neighbourhood in Sejong village, within a really close walking distance to a subway station (around 5 minutes), a food street, a bus stop (including the airport bus), several convenience stores and, more importantly, some of the best of Seoul’s tourist attractions — Gyeongbokgung Palace (it’s around 5 minutes away), Bukchon Hanok Village, Insadong and so on. we were staying here in the summer, when it’s boiling hot, but our room had AC to help us survive, the fridge had cold water and the kitchen was equipped with everything you might need :) the room itself was quite spacious, really comfortable for three people i highly recommend Hans House to anyone coming to Seoul, be it for a few days or longer :) and can’t wait to come back here again myself!

PhilippinesGoing back late night/midnight can be quite scary since the alley is dark but I just use my phone's flashlight. Not the fault of the host though.
Mr Hans was super helpful, I got lost late night because the taxi driver dropped me off at another alley and I could not see well at night. I sent him a message here and he went out of his way to find me and help with my luggage. I will always recommend this share house. It is walking distance to the train station and main road (if you will take a taxi instead). It is also near the Sejong Food alley for local Korean beef then Paris Baguette for sandwiches and if you find yourself having trouble with local shops, you can go to Chicken in the Chicken where the owner speaks good Englsh. The room is just ok for a single traveler and it has a private bathroom which was great. Amenities were good, they have a ref, washing machine, free water and coffee.

AustraliaHans house is in an excellent location, very close to transport and a huge range of eating options with Sejong Village Food Street just around the corner. The area is attractive with traditional Korean buildings and quaint alleys, and is within walking distance of key attractions such as the Gyeongbokgung Palace. Our room was very clean, and very warm which was good as temperatures dropped quite low overnight. We arrived quite late at night and the owner was kind enough to come and find us near the train station.

Mr Han was very nice and accommodating, gave us a lot of information of good places of visit etc. It was very easy to communicate with him because he used whatsapp, his english is not bad too :) The location is really good, near Gyeongbukgong Station. Very quiet at night as well.
