Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn't like, but people with limited mobility need to consider that they will be staying in a traditional 16th century house with some uneven steps and low doors. All part of the adventure of travel!
The location on the banks of the Nakdong River is wonderful, along with the sense that you have stepped into history. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, the hosts welcoming and extremely helpful, and the traditional Korean breakfast absolutely delicious. You wake to the calls of many different birds in the forest behind the pavilion, and go to sleep to the sound of frogs in the nearby rice fields and river reeds. We would have liked to stay longer to do nothing and unwind.

PolandNothing bothered us, everything was perfect. even the bathroom, which was in a separate building, was modern, super clean and exclusive to us.

United StatesWe arrived at night and it was difficult to find as there was a sign that said no cars on the road that led to it. Also, having the bathroom in a separate building can be problematic for older travelers.
The breakfast was delicious on both days. It was served on time and filling. The host was very attentive to our needs. The hanuk and surroundings were absolutely beautiful. It far exceeded my expectations.

United StatesFor an older person, I felt I needed to be careful with the stone stairs. My big American feet did not fit in the slippers. I think the directions should state to go down the road past the confusion academy.
The breakfast was very good. The host was most helpful. The bathrooms, while detached, were clean and nice. The ambiance of the river and the village was unparalleled!

United KingdomThe staff at Okyeon Jeongsa were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - they even offered to pick us up from Hahoe folk village as we didn't have a car, and helped us to book a taxi back to the train station when we checked out. The breakfast was delicious and was served in a room with a beautiful view of the river. Me and my family had an unforgettable experience staying in this hanok, and we highly recommend Okyeon Jeongsa to anyone who is looking to visit Andong!

CroatiaNothing, everything was perfect.
It was our privilege to be able to stay in this amazing, historical accommodation. It was very quiet and relaxing, and we slept great. Breakfast was delicious. Seunghwan, the owner, and his family went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and they even gave us a few rides around the area, for what we are really grateful. We will always remember and cherish this experience, and hopefully come back in the future once again. 감사합니다

The location was fantastic and to know that this hanok was the home of someone very important in Korean history and to meet his 16th generation descendent was beyond expectation. The fellow studied in the states so spoke great English which was very helpful.

CanadaOkyeon Jeongsa is so peaceful and authentic-looking! I felt transported back in time. There is a path down to the river, and the riverside is pretty in the morning fog. Another path goes through the woods up a cliff, from where one can see the entire Hahoe Folk Village. The futon turned out to be surprisingly comfortable - I slept so well! Breakfast was outstanding. Lastly, Mr Kang was kind enough to pick me up at the village and then drive me to the Byeongsan-seowon Confucian Academy the next day, which I appreciate very much. He also answered my many questions before the trip, which helped me plan my stay better. I would stay here again if I had a chance. Thank you!

BelgiumThe location is fantastic and if you are looking for an authentic stay this is the place to choose. You literally sleep in an historic building. Beds are comfortable and the room and bathroom are clean. In the morning we were given a fantastic breakfast. You are surrounded by nature and at night you can hear the crickets. There is a little path which leads to the Buyongdae viewpoint (10 minutes) where you have a beautifull view over Hahoe village. The host is very friendly and helpfull. He gave us some tips about the luggage lockers at Hahoe village and came to pick us up at the village after our visit. Remember there are no eating facilities here for lunch or diner, so prepare therefore. We took a taxi back to Andong bus station.

AustraliaSeparate bathroom from room is a bit of a trek, and the shared suites have no sound proofing, but hey it’s a traditional Korean building built over 500 years ago, so that’s the trade off.
Absolutely incredible in all respects. Stay here if you can.
