Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you don’t wish to eat at the Kensington there are very limited options for food. Some restaurants in the park entrance but not open late, otherwise walk a mile down the road to the village centre which is dilapidated and scruffy. We only found couple of places open.
Hotel right next to the entrance of the national park so perfect location if you are walking in the park. Rooms very spacious with comfortable beds, also had a bath.

TurkeyI would like to have an option when I don't choose open buffet for dinner. I don't drink alcohol and eat pork etc. I should have another option in the hotel restaurant for a dinner.
This location and this hotel reminds me my vacations in Swiss Alps. The breakfast is quite good. Dining salon has a very beautiful view especially in the winter. After a long hiking, it is a nice place to rest.

New ZealandThe bathrooms are a little outdated and the on-site restaurant takes last orders at 8pm, so be prepared if you’re arriving later as the offsite facilities are about 20 minutes walk away on a fairly unlit path.
Absolutely cannot beat the location - right in the middle of the National park with snow-capped Mountain View’s. It’s a beautiful place and the rooms are huge.

DenmarkLack of hot water. This should be a minimum for a hotel in a location that people like to visit in winter. The friendly staff gave us the key to the empty neighbouring room to see if that was better,a slight difference, but water was not hot. The decor was fine, but the plumbing needs attention.
Wonderful location and friendly staff.

United StatesThe decors are very outdated and the windows are pretty dirty which detracts from enjoying the views.
Kensington is a funky hotel full of quirkiness (like the restaurant's walls lined with Princess Diana's photos) and a bit tired looking. However, the view cannot be beat! It has a stunning view of the mountains of Seoraksan. We had dinners on both nights we were there in the restaurant at the hotel and the food was remarkably good! The breakfast being included is a big bonus!

TaiwanA pretentious hotel. We had 3 rooms as a family and stayed 2 nights. On the second day, they did not even make beds for the room I stayed in. There were mosquitoes in the other two rooms, so other members of the family could not sleep and had a disturbant night. The second night was better since they gave us electric insect repellant mats.
Fantastic location and beautiful view. I can not say that it is a great hotel based on my own experience, but the great location overrules many defects. Dinner is a good value.

United StatesMost annoying the turn off the water heater at night so forget taking a late night hot bath after a long day hiking. This hotel looks luxurious on the outside and lobby but the rooms are past their prime. Our room smelled musty and moldy and a few bathroom fixtures were cracked and some loose. They just don't seem to have enough guests to keep their restaurants open either - even in the typically busy fal season.
Loved the location very close to the entrance to Mt Sorak National Park. Beautiful views from some hotel rooms. Second time there and will stay again if bringing friends to sightsee the area.

NetherlandsKeep in mind the restaurant is only open on Fri and Sat, huge disappointment for such remote location. Rooms are old, housekeeping could be better (often no new coffee supply, doing bare minimum cleaning), hard beds and bar closes at 5pm.

United KingdomAlthough the entrance feels grand the rooms feel a bit dated and also the Korean style room felt quite Western in style. AC wasn’t working, with the room being uncomfortably hot although the staff did provide us with a fan.
Great location a short walk from the entrance to the national park and the bus stop for the bus from Sokcho. Interesting and quirky with its love for British paraphernalia and also various Korean sporting displays.
