There is one bathroom for men and one for women in the second floor. If the hostal is busy it may be a challenge to find a time to use the bathroom. I myself did not suffer from this but my girlfriend did a few times.

The hostal is economic, cozy, and comfortable. Elvira and Katia make a wonderful breakfast everyday and in general, the staff is considerate and accommodating. Very much recommend. While it is somewhat removed from downtown, you can get there conveniently with bus 86 (the public transit is great!) and there are a few nice cafes nearby and a pleasant botanical garden.

The dorm experience for the boys wasn't as comfortable. The door of the dorm had some issues and could not be locked. There was a group of 10-15 children on their floor who were noisy. We were tired and needed rest. Thus we checked out much earlier than we planned to.

The place was clean, breakfast was served on time. We only stayed for a few hours after our flight landed on 8th early morning. Although we booked for 4 beds in a mixed room dorm, 2 boys of our group were asked to stay in the dorm while the 2 girls were provided a separate room with a bathroom just outside the door.

Great rooms and great facilities. The host always helps the guest during emergencies and is willing to communicate with you in case if emergencies.

Cigarette and drinking is not allowed. Little restrictions are there but it needs time upgraded.

Very nice behavior of Alex and his wife , Linda's behavior was also very pretty. The land Lord Madam was just awesome like mother ahe made food for us every day. Very nice I recommend it strongly.

Insensitive staff turned off the light on the common area even if they saw us working on our laptops —and this happened in two consecutive evenings. No nearby cheap restaurants also. Location is a bit far from center.

the staff was really cooperative, the breakfast was nice, it is a bit far from the main downtown but in a beautiful location with all supermarkets and mall nearby. would highly recommend staying here. PS hostels in Kazakhstan are not like in south east asia you can't make noise or party past 11, if you do so be ready for a scolding.

Only thing is sometimes you have to wait for the toilets, but this is totally normal with shared spaces.

I hated the lack of working bathrooms (only 3 WCs and showers for the whole house) Also it was kinda cold inside, but I suppose the central heating system was not on in September. The bed made very disturbing noises with every move.

I loved the breakfast, the good wifi, the price I paid for it, the kind staff, the fact that the beds had privacy curtains, also the big lockers.

As a solo female traveler, this was the perfect stay for me in Almaty. It’s so nice to arrive to a new region and feel so welcome when traveling alone. everyone was friendly, warm and super helpful…even with all my last minute requests. The house is beautiful and cozy with a lot of space to sit in common areas and a big sunny yard. The female dorms are super comfy, with lockers, big windows, airflow and curtains on the beds for privacy. It’s exactly what I look for in a hostel and more. Oh and breakfast is so lovely! Filling and changing daily - also accommodated me being vegetarian. Thank you !! Looking forward to staying again when I come to Almaty
