How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The first room they gave us was old, dusty, cramped and run down. We asked for a room change to a newer wing and the 2nd room was much more acceptable.
Buffet was ok. The set menu for dinner was really excellent

Some things in the room are a little dated. The shower head holder was broken and kept falling off.
Hotel is in a great location and perfect for a stay close to the airport. Check in was smooth and our room was spacious. The pool was lovely and could not fault the breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff were very slow to do anything. Check in took 20 minutes and our room was not ready even though we arrived 1.5 hours after check in time. The sheets were stained. Luckily we were using the hotel as a base for the airport.
The property had good facilities and location is great as it is right on the beach. It is walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. Location is good for the airport

restaurant, lobby was without AC, beach not beautiful and good for long beach vacation. fresh juices during breakfast not good (only sweet - papaya, watermelon, banana was provided), coffee taste not good. HB will be recommended but lunch is better to buy onsite as no bufee provided.

Nothing really - maybe the staff at the desk were a little unhelpful, possibly just young, not a lot of English (or training).
Confortable and clean room. Good choice buffet breakfast. Lovely pool area. Close to restaurants.

Room could be updated slightly but that is if I’m being critical I thought it was great.

The rooms in the older bloc are very dated and the hotel could use a modernisation, however they are good size and offer a sea view. The breakfast was an additional cost, higher than quoted, although decent variety and quality, but overall I don't think it's worth the additional cost (especially for 2+ people) and should be factored into the room rate.
The pool is large and the grounds were well maintained. Helpful staff.

Excellent for a short stay after the long flight to Sri Lanka as only 20 mins from the airport. Swimming pool good restaurant. Helpful staff was very please .Only stayed 2 nights as was at the start of our holiday but worth a longer stay.

A small issue but the shower head didn't work in room 124 so it was awkward for a shower. The hotel caters for wedding and conferences so don't expect it to be quiet, though they did seem to finish well before midnight.
Good location within easy distance to airport. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by and only a cheap tuk-tuk drive to others. Very pleasant hotel with lovely staff. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with all amenities. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely pools and surrounding areas, but insufficient umbrellas and beds with shade.

Consider buying a stretch of the beach and having organised sun beds here.
Fantastic breakfast. Lovely pool area and gardens. We enjoyed the daily water aerobics led by Viraj and his dance class. Pool attendant service, cold towels and sunglasses cleaning were appreciated. We went to the fish barbecue on the Friday evening and the food was outstanding. All hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at the hotel earlier in the week and had a ground floor room, but for this one night stay we stayed on the third floor of the new block and our balcony had a gorgeous view of the sea and the sunset.

Nice , clean room, super comfortable beds, good shower. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, so much variety including continental and Sri Lankan options. Great location by the beach, nice pools.
