Feels like in the castle and overlooking the Kandy lake, view is unreal, the anquie furniture and tasteful decoration makes the stay very unique, staff is very polite, helpful and friendly. Tasty breakfast. Definitely one of the best stays ever. We would come back to stay here for sure if we are in Kandy again.

We had such a lovely time at Castle Hill. The room we stayed in must have been the largest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in, far above the average. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom spotless. We had a very nice breakfast outside, overlooking the breathtaking views, and were very happy to be visited by the monkeys (for us it was a new experience to be so close to them, we really enjoyed it). The staff was also so kind and helpful. An employee gave us a ride to the train station, which was great, as we were a bit delayed. What’s worth mentioning even more is that my partner left her wallet behind and the manager, Mr Bandara, arranged for it to be brought at the station, just in time for us to catch the train (it had a delay which, amazingly, gave us the buffer we needed to recover the wallet). All in all a wonderful experience and a great choice for a stay in Kandy (we were a bit sorry we didn’t stay longer). Highly recommended.

Sprawling colonial-era bungalow with lush gardens and an old-world charm in an excellent location overlooking a lake. With tastefully done and well-maintained interiors, the place felt like home. The staff were attentive and accommodated special requests, including a subscription for a specific TV channel and serving us breakfast in the beautiful garden. We enjoyed the peace and privacy of the property due to the small number of guests. Highly recommended for a serene and comfortable stay in Kandy.

This is a beautiful property set in the hills, about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Kandy. The room was huge and clean, shower was decent. We only stayed one night and there was one guy working there the whole time but he was amazing, so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. All in all this place was great value for money and I’d recommend it.

Nothing not to like. Only improvement I could suggest would be a pool. But this is only if I had to think of something.

Absolutely beautiful property in a fantastic location. Better than the pictures! The views of the lake were breathtaking and the staff were exceptionally warm and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to be close to Kandy but in an oasis of calm.

Exception service from Nihal and the management was a bonus on top of the great location, spacious room, beautiful bungalow and settings. They take care of you with genuine heart. I highly recommend it.

Some might prefer a more central location. But you can walk down to the lake in less than 10 mins. Returning is uphill though but quick enough in a tuk tuk. The building is old, so some things don't always work as well e.g. some times, the shower drained very slowly. But for me this is a minor issue, canceled out by the experience of staying in such a unique property. Had to remind staff to restock items in the room. They were very obliging once reminded.

Unique heritage building with lovely grounds (stumbled upon an old Morris Minor and US Army Jeep in a garage). Great views of Kandy. Friendly staff. Large rooms.

Amazing castle house, extremely nice deco, huge ceilings, everything looks like if you were in a movie. Everything was clean. The attention of the employees so kind. Breakfast really good.

Beautiful old Colonial house in a fantastic location in Kandy - abut 5-10 minutes walk into centre of Kandy. The view of the lake from the house is beautiful. We had breakfast in the garden as the weather was fab - this was a lovely experience. Food was delicious & freshly prepared. One night we were the only guests so had the entire place to ourselves! Akila is the manager here & was so helpful & friendly. He did everything he could to make our stay great. He even arranged tickets to a traditional dance performance & walked with us to show us where the theatre was. The rooms are huge & so beautiful & really clean. Would definitely stay again & 100% recommend

The location and the service are top notch. It would be difficult to find a better place in Kandy. A special mention for Dhananjay. He was the night manager and was exceptionally sweet and courteous.

Nothing really. everything was spot on.

What a place to stay. Fantastic views over Kandy town. Large room with comfortable kingsize bed. So peaceful and quiet at night Breakfast delivered form nearby hotel by the general manager. Thats what I call service!! Gardens are well maintained and a joy to wander around.

Can't think of anything, we really liked the place.

My husband, baby boy and I loved staying at this special place and we appreciate very much that the manager Nimal assured everything we needed including babysitting for our 1,5 year old son. The food was great, both breakfast and dinner and we had plenty of privacy and space there. We would definitely go back!

Roof leaked in to room. No hot water one morning. Curtains on one window would not close. Shower plumbing unpredictable. Steep walk too and from city (Tuk Tuk only 4-500 rupees).Hotel generally not as luxurious as it would like to be. That said, I would stay again if a little cheaper.

Interiors are little old. some lights are so dim, so the room is dark, making the room a little creepy especially at night. Wi-Fi is not strong in rooms.

location is perfect. only ten minutes walking far from kandy lake. also the garden of this hotel is awesome. flowers and grasses cover the hill. staffs are friendly and helpful.
