Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaWe stayed at Chena Huts for 2 nights! And what an experience it was, surrounded by greenery overlooking the LION rock at Sigiria was a sight to behold. The hosts were very warm and looked after us really well. The stay was neat and tidy with a great view. We were served good and clean breakfast through out the two days. The hosts were also able to guide us around the surrounding areas and helped us with exploring more of Sigiria. A very different experience and a must stay in Sigiria!

Czech RepublicThe towel provided was quite worn off, so that could be exchanged. However, that's a small thing and quick to improve :)
The area where the huts are located is just incredible. Looks like in the jungle :) The huts are also super nice! The owner of the resort is a very welcoming person and will do his best to accommodate any wishes. Absolutely loved this place and recommend to anyone.

VietnamWe loved our stay at the Chena Huts. It's peaceful and beautiful. It's a bit of a walk from the village center and the junction with many restaurants, so some people might see that as inconvenient, but for us it was perfect b/c we wanted a quiet location surrounded by nature. We loved waking up to the sound of birds. (Do be careful, though - a squirrel found its way into our hut and ate our left over cookies. Also we had a few frogs who enjoyed hanging out in our bathroom. They're harmless and if anything scared of us, but good to be aware so you're not surprised.) There are a few restaurants within easy walking distance, run by friendly local residents, and Chena itself can serve great meals too. The staff are friendly, reliable, and helpful. Great breakfast. I'd love to stay here again. I enjoyed the quiet charm of this area and the lovely local residents, and hope that it doesn't get too overdeveloped and touristy.

GermanyThe perfect place for a stay in the small village of Sirigiya. Beautiful complex, a little outside and in a quiet location. Breakfast was great and the service was also very good. We had a safari tour booked through the accommodation and tuk-tuks could also be ordered spontaneously. There is also a hotel nearby with a great pool which you can use as a day tourist for a small fee! The chalets are well equipped, with mosquito nets and chalet no. 3 has a view of Lions Rock. Highly recommended!

Amila and his wife are amazing hosts and this eco resort is so peaceful nestled in nature. The rooms face the Farms of Amila parents and you can hear and see so many beautiful birds. We saw peacocks dancing all the time. The room is clean , spacious , hot water and super nice balcony. The breakfast was delicious. We rented scooters and it was so easy to visit all the sites. SerbiaI wouldn’t recommend it to someone who’s afraid of bugs/mosquitoes etc. We didn’t have any problem with it, and room was fairly secured, but it’s so deep in the nature and some people don’t like that. If you’re a nature lover, then this is a perfect spot for your stay in Sigiriya 😊
As always, people make your stay even better - and that’s what the owners did for us. The owner is a tourist guide who recommended us all the wonderful places we must see during our visit in Sri Lanka. They reserved our tour to Sigiriya and were helpful. Food was great, as well as the location. Peaceful and clean.

United KingdomWe absolutely loved our stay here. It exceeded our expectations. The hut was beautiful and we had a view from our bed (and balcony) of lion rock. It was really quiet from human noises and you really felt in the middle of nature. The host was brilliant and went above and beyond as well as making a delicious breakfast (best omelette I’ve ever eaten). Thank you for a wonderful stay.
