How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Parking is limited. No privacy. A group of people booked the room next to mine and they were drinking and shouting the whole night. The event finally stopped around 4 AM. The room balconies are not separated, and a few guys came in front of our room window, shouting the whole night. There was no one to complain to.
Super clean spacious rooms with comfy beds They served excellent tea. The view was excellent. The staff was good.

Unfortunately there are 2 houses with ongoing construction on both sides, so during the day is noisy. I missed having srilankan breakfast as an option. They offer also dinner, which is convenient. A bit pricey but tasty.
Location is great if you don’t mind walking up and down for about 20min to reach the town. Clean & spacious rooms. Various common spaces with fireplace at night. Beautiful views of the mountains and surroundings. Balcony is very enjoyable in the evening and early morning if you have a private one.

The room is a little clumsy and there is this huge ventilation problem. You cannot keep the windows open as there are monkeys moving around the property. Maybe they should add a net to the windows
The view from the room is amazing, you can literally see the mountains from the window. They welcomed us with coffee, after a tiring journey from Sigiriya. The staff is really helpful - there is an old grandpa, who is an encyclopaedia of traveling in Sri Lanka. Also, if you want to see Monkeys wishing you good morning this is the place to be at

Wifi was terrible Price for Outdoor experience overrated
The view from the hotel was good. Ari the driver is the best guide you can wish for! Sri Lankan breakfast was delicous: highly recommend

The lights which light up the building are a little annoying but they switch them off at arround 10pm.
Such a great place to stay, just outside the city center but still within walking distance. The view is just perfect, the rooms are clean. Shasi and the others were super friendly and helped with any problem. Definitely would stay here again.

Breakfast was simple but a bit expensive but with a great view.
It was a very cozy place in the mountains. We had a room with a great view and everything was clean. The staff was very very friendly! Walk to the Center was about 30 min but they also have a lovely tuk tuk driver :)

The views are amazing, the staff really friendly and all home cooked meals were amazing. The room is spacious and comfy, definitely better than staying at the lake.

Leaking water inside the bathroom is annoyed because all floor is wet and also we couldn't have got water for unexpected reasons .

The car park is in quit a distance where you have to walk uphill to get to the hotel.
Beautifully located on top of a hill overlooking the mountain ranges. The View from the room is amazing and the room is Kept clean and tidy.

Had a few issues with hot water that could be resolved. A cupboard to put clothes would be easy.
It's very comfortable and the host was really nice.

Alhtough the staff is very friendly, they could be more present. A couple of times I was unable to find them
