The room was lovely and the views were amazing. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with wood panelling everywhere. The owner was so helpful and attentive during our stay. We would definitely return.

No door on the bathroom therefore lacked privacy and would have been lovely to have some chairs on the balcony for the stunning views.

The host was very flexible, understanding .and very friendly. Asitha has gone an extra mile to inform us of some stuff we left there and promised to send it to our address by post. Our satisfaction is very high. Recommended for families staying with children and groups. Thanks for the lovely breakfast we had on all three days.

There is no good eating place near the facility hence to have dinner you would have to travel a bit (atleast 5-6km)

The rooms are awesome and with wooden flooring, spacious area and a great view. The hosts are welcoming and the breakfast is pretty good with a lot of variety. It’s located on top of a mountain so you can feel a great breeze all the time along with a sunrise / sunset view depending on your room.

We only spent one night at Cottage San Francesco, but it was enough to make it one of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka. The room is spacious, clean and well kept. Water and a kettle with tea/coffee were waiting for us. The bathroom is also clean, a nice feature with stones in the shower :) We woke up to a beautiful view of the mountains. The breakfast was very tasty and varied. The staff was very nice and helpful, the gentlemens even helped a little with the tuk tuk. Highly recommended!

Everything about this place was a 10 for me and my partner. The host and everyone that works there are so Accommodating. Your room is cleaned daily. The breakfast is amazing! Bed was the comfiest we had stayed in during our 2 weeks in sri lanka. The host is really honest about what to look out for in Sri Lanka. He organized me and my partner a really fun day checking out Nuwara Eliya. The scenery where the house is amazing. You're surrounded by a beautiful landscape of tea plantations and local farms growing vegetables and other plants. Something other travelers may not like but we loved is the location. You are a 15 minute tuk tuk to any shops.. I think this is a trade off for how beautiful the location is though. However a tuk tuk was never a issue.

You do need to tuk-tuk if you want to eat elsewhere- BUT Ranii is fantastic and super reliable (and cheap!)

Everything about this property is fantastic. The rooms are gorgeous (the host even gave us a choice of 2!) , the views are stunning and the food is brilliant. The host went above and beyond for us and our ongoing journey. He also organised a fantastic tuk-tuk driver (amazing Ranii) who took us on a day trip full of amazing sights! Can’t recommend enough!

The interior had a sterile look. Some nice pictures and house plants would have made it livelier

The property is solidly built. The cold wind was howling around the whole night but the building withstood all the battering without a complaint. The trees all round were getting huge battering. The rooms were spacious and bathrooms were modern with some nice lighting. The wooden floors were sparkling clean and the staff would have taken tremendous amount of efforts to keep it that way

Place was difficult to find in the evening with our tuk tuk. A sign and warning for the steep road ahead would have been nice.

What to say? Super friendly staff. Amazing breakfast. Big and clean room which was cleaned every day. Comfy large bed with small heater on the side. And a bathroom holding up to European standards. Great views... i recommend this place to anyone. One of the best stays in our Sri Lanka trip. Bravo and thanks to the whole team managing this place.

Very comfortable accommodation. The host offered us a ride down to the main road to help us get picked up or to take the bus. A driver can be arranged for guests and we wished that we had used this amenity since it was difficult at times to get an Uber or Pick Me driver to pick us up from this area. Breakfast was great with ample food. Drinking water provided. It was nice to have both heating and cooling. Beautiful views of the hills and farmland. Very kind hosts. In the bathroom.

Minor comments: the shared spaces on floor 2 and 3 could have a more communal feel. Also, the breakfast was large and would have been better if they had asked us what we would like to avoid food waste.

The bed was without doubt the most comfortable I have slept in in years and the view from our room was unparelled. Very warm and helpful owners who loved our baby.

They serve a huge western breakfast, but unfortunately it didn’t really hit the mark for us, and it would have been nice to have a Sri Lankan breakfast option.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cottage San Francesco. The owner is very friendly with great communication and super helpful for booking train tickets. The location is lovely, with spectacular views and a quick and easy tuk tuk ride into the center of town. They organized a driver for us for the day (shout out to Nishanta) who had heaps of great local tips and secrets! The beds are very comfortable and the spa bath was a real treat!

Absolutely loved this place. We got super lucky and got one of the rooms on the top floor with the views out the back. It has a bit of a log cabin vibe and seem relatively new or recently renovated. Not much in the way of decoration outside the rooms but the room itself was incredible. The views were amazing out the back over looking the valley. The staff were super nice and even warned us there was a big group coming the next night and offered to swap our room if we were worried about the noise. One of my favourite stays actually. If you have a vehicle just be aware its a pretty steep winding road up so tuk tuk was no problem but a car would be more difficult. If you are taking a car Id suggest parking it once and using tuk tuks to get into and out of town. If you are driving your own tuk tuk its no issue to come and go.

Location is upbeat, but requires a car to get to. Since we had a rental car, it wasn't a real problem. For others, it may by an issue.

Breakfast are fine. Hosts are just very pleasant people. Property itself truly represents the spirit of Small England in Sri Lanka.

Quiet and comfortable guest house. Had a real Swiss lodge vibe with the comfiest beds we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Scenery very Studio Ghibli esq. Staff were legends. Large breakfast. Wouldn’t recommend arriving here at night - quite a narrow windy road up the hill to the cottage. A small price to pay for the property’s outlook though. No dramas with getting tuk tuks to/from town also (10mins)
