Some of the bathroom and room fittings are a bit old and in need of updating. However, they were mostly functional and clean, just not in the best condition.

We returned to the Heritage Hotel after 2 previous positive experiences of staying there. The most compelling aspects of this property are its location on the banks of the Tissa Wewa, within easy reach of the sacred sites of Anuradhapura, a great swimming pool that makes for the ideal place to relax in the afternoons, and the friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed a very warm welcome and efficient check in, thanks to Janaka, the front desk manager. We were running late and wanted to quickly set off to Ruwanweliseya, and Janaka ensured that we were able to do this. We also had some delicious meals, both at the well stocked buffets and when ordering ‘a la carte’. The service provided by the staff under the leadership of the restaurant manager, Hemantha, was excellent.

Little more details about the surroundings. A beautiful place with a super view of the dagoba what Anuradhpura offer. Nice quiet place to go for a walk

One minor drawback during my stay was the presence of bugs in the natural surroundings. While the hotel's location is undoubtedly beautiful, this attracted a few unwanted insects, which could be a concern for some guests. However, it's worth noting that this issue was relatively minor and did not significantly impact the overall quality of my experience.

The food was another highlight, with a diverse and delicious menu that added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. We enjoyed our stay in the Heritage Hotel Anuradhapura. It is centrally located and easy to get around to all the places one wants to visit and see in Anuradhapura. We enjoyed our time there very much. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and seemed to genuinely care. This was a great hotel at a great price. Would definitely stay again if we came back this way.

I met an executive of the hotel, who requested feedback. Then I felt like he is only interested in taking good feedback. As soon as you tell something bad about, he goes into kind of excuse mode. The shower was broken and leaking. The bed is like somebody stayed last night, wrinkles on the pillows. It may be clean, but felt some of the things are not that professional.

Really good location. Staff is friendly but I felt they are not seasoned. Good food. One suggestion, meeting the hotel CEO in the lobby- some might think it’s good. But I felt this is bit odd, something is not right.

The beds can be short and there is no AC in the lobby.

Some staff are very nice, especially the young person who was in charge of the rooms. We had everything we needed in the room for my three person family except my husband's bed was too short for him (he is 6' 2"). When I booked the hotel, I selected a room with two queen beds but once we arrived, we were given a room with one queen and one twin. The manager in charge did not want to change it. The food was very nice. The young person in charge of rooms asked how to improve the conditions. We appreciate his concerns and wanting to improve the hotel.

Road to the hotel needs to be reconstructed by local council.

Spacious room and comfortable beds. Beautiful surroundings and well maintained gardens. Pool was well maintained and Poolside was very relaxing. Buffet breakfast was very good with much variety. Sri Lankan Dinner served at the in-house restaurant was very tasty. Sumith (CEO) was very accommodating and friendly. Provided us with food for our travel back to Colombo.

I stayed 2 days in this hotel with my family and it was located only 10 minutes away from Sri maha bodhi and other places . Food was delicious and we enjoyed it a lot. The CEO of the hotel Mr. Sumith was very friendly and he personally looked after guests. He has friendly staff as well. I recommended this hotel if anyone is planing to visit Anuradhapura.

Methods of payments. I had to spend more than 2 hrs at the cashier to pay . They wanted Srilankan Srilankan Rupees. Then I wanted oay by credit card. they didn't accept my UK Mastercard as payment method. So then I had to pay by a Srilankan Credit card of my friend. Lot of confusion at the cashier. I think my pleasant stay at Heritage ruined at the cashier. please put some thoughts to payment methods and make it user friendly Cashier!
