Room sound isolation is not great.

Amazing location and amazing experience to stay in a previous Tea factory. Food was excellent ! It felt like travelling back to the colonials time.

The rooms aren’t sound proof and you can hear loud people talking from next door/below.

The hotel has the equipment from when it was a tea factory and it has a lot of personality. The restaurant staff were very friendly and the buffet dinner had good choice. We were given treats on arrival for our honeymoon which was a nice touch. One of our favourite hotels from our trip

Heritance Tea Factory - an absolutely amazing experience

Yes, it’s up a narrow , windy road for a few kilometres but that is a small price to pay for the fabulous views and welcome.

I absolutely loved the Heritance Tea Factory. I would go as far as to say that it is one of the best places I have ever stayed, it was a real treat. This hotel is special in so many ways - the building being a converted tea factory; the unique check in - no stress, and so welcoming , including of course a cup of tea; the proposed activities, the quality of the food, the location……….. but most of all the welcoming staff. Everybody had a smile on their face. We did the tea plucking and Jayanthi and Krishnaveni made it a very memorable and unique experience. The cherry on the cake for me was the complimentary birthday cake and staff singing happy birthday to me as I left. It was part of an unforgettable birthday for me. I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel.

The shower was a little dated, but to be fair, it worked absolutely fine. The mattress was a bit firm for me but that’s also just personal preference/needs.

The location is stunning and the whole experience of tea plucking and tasting was amazing. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was great. The preserved building is quite something and the grounds are immaculate. The entire thing was just utterly unique and felt really special. (They do seem to run out of tea to purchase quite quickly so get in there fast!)

    All was perfect

Our stay at the Heritance Tea Factory was one of the highlights of our holiday to Sri Lanka. Great memories. Amazing location! We had a lovely walk down through the village and into the tea plantations which were stunning. Unlike other reviews we found it was extremely good value for money. Lovely food and very attentive staff.

It’s on the mountain top, the road towards there is not good.

This heritage hotel is a former tea factory and the machines are still working today, the hotel is in good atmosphere and unique taste, very comfortable room and delicious buffet dinner and breakfast. The garden outside the main building is built down the mountain top, very beautiful and well maintained, the staff called Pathmaraj is very warm and introduced this very very lovely garden with his whole passion, it’s very nice and warm memory. And we visited Mini Tea factory and also the staff there is quite nice, her name is Krishnaveni, she gave us a quick introduction about tea making process.

Enjoyed meals at the restaurant very well decorated food was good. Chief Chef Shanmu was very welcoming and looking after every time we went there.

On arrival it transpired that there had been a misunderstanding about the fee quoted online. We arrived late in the dark and tired. The receptionist informed us that we needed to pay an extra 100 dollars for the children (we had booked 2 twin rooms and stated the ages of the children in advance so it was very clear) but the lady argued with us repeatedly and insisted that we pay despite the fault not lying with us. Fortunately the manager was contacted and he sorted everything out. We did not pay any additional fee.

The hotel is beautiful and situated in an amazing setting high up on the hills of Nuwara Eliya. 25 mins out of the way from town. It is very colonial and old fashioned. The food is delicious and plentiful. We also had a very relaxing message- and this was offered to a 12 year old too unlike in the UK so she was very very happy.

The road up to the hotel is VERY windy and takes 40 mins to Nuwara Eliya town.

The views and setting around the property were amazing. Well worth doing the morning walk through the village - one of the best parts of our trip!

    None - can't be faulted.

Exceptional location with wonderful views across the tea hillsides. Beautifully restored old tea factory and so elegant inside. The restaurant was excellent with a terrific singer for evening music. Our room was extremely comfortable with magnificent views across the hillsides. The service was at all times very attentive and friendly.

Price are high and not in line with the market in Sri Lanka. Rooms noise isolation is very bad, consider you will ear any type of noise of your neighbour.

It was really far away from Nuwara Eliya so once you’re there, you have to stay there. The room was nice, in a very old English style but pretty small. Though the experience was nice, we felt if was too expensive for what it is.

It is really in an amazing decor, in the middle of tea fields and with a great views, worth the experience. Dinner and breakfast buffets offer a lot of choices and very nice things.
