There is always something one can complain about or niggle, but I don’t think there was any real issue that should deter anyone from staying here.

A lot of love and effort have gone into turning a piece of jungle into a welcoming and beautiful space, combining a functioning farm with very high quality accommodation. Staff were genuinely very friendly, and the owner who happened to also be there at the time, was happy to do a tour of the farm for me at 5 min notice. I was in a room in the Mango Villa which was very generously proportioned (I was alone but it probably would have been big enough for a family of 4); high ceilings, nicely decorated so it felt homely and comfortable, and a showstopper bathroom and private terrace for amazing sunsets with stunning views over The Valley. I only had breakfast there but that was very nice and generous with fruit platter fresh from the farm, home made delicious marmalade, fresh bread and poached eggs and anything else one might want at breakfast (and probably the best coffee I had on the island).

Wow, just wow! A stunning place set in a little tropical paradise. Our stay here was amazing. The room was huge and beautifully decorated with an incredible view of the mango farm below. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. There is heaps to do in the actual resort itself, from the tour of the farm to an amazing cookery class with the talented chef. We wish we could have stayed longer just to chill and enjoy the farm surroundings, read a book by the pool etc, but this was at the start of our trip and we had other plans as well. The food was exceptional, fresh from the farm and very plentiful.... That mango juice was heaven!! But note: You often don't know what you're getting until it arrives and the dishes just keep on coming and coming!! So if you have a small appetite, it might be good to check how many courses there are and what they are so you can decide which ones to opt in for!! The food is truly excellent and cheap by UK standards but a lot more expensive than eating in local restaurants. If we'd had a little more time we would have ventured outside the resort a bit more for a meal here or there. I also had a massage with the onsite Ayurvedic doctor who came in to do the treatment on his day off!!! Literally the BEST massage I've ever had in my life and at a fraction of UK prices. Incredible. We also met the owner, Kevin, and his family who were all lovely and very welcoming. They shared all the interesting stories behind the origins of the farm and gave us some useful tips for the rest of our stay. This was approximately double the price of the other places we stayed at in Sri Lanka but the experience was 100x more memorable. The value for money here is unquestionable. Perhaps being located outside of the tourist hotspots allows Jim's Villas to deliver amazing service and facilities that far outweigh the price. Thank you!

We planned our stay during the covid pandemic lockdown and were not allowed off the farm. This turned out great because at the farm there is enough to do and the food is just great. Also the manager arranged exclusive trips to the country's major tourist attractions for us, so it turned out great.

The place is amazing. There is a almost magic atmosphere on the farm. You're surrounded by animals & nature's sounds, smells and vibe. At the same time you're in the hands of a great team that fully understands hospitality. With a large swimming pool, a beautiful spa, yoga services, cycling, tours, monastery and much, much more, there is always something to explore. Make sure you get in touch with the management way prior to your stay, they will surely make it unforgettable.
