I really enjoyed my stay at Olu - Dev and AJ made me feel like home and they looked after me, which I found very kind since I'm traveling on my own. They also wrote to me before I arrived and during my trip to the city which I found very attentive. Dev also owns two dogs which I enjoyed petting very much! 😄 I had a single room with a nice garden view and enough space to put all my belongings. The bed was comfortable, also the ventilator and AC gave my two nights a good breeze under the very hot weather conditions in Colombo. The traditional breakfast that AJ served me was very delicious. Also he made it especially vegan for me. The location is pretty nice in a calmer district of Colombo, there's a supermarket and food court a few minutes from the villa and also a little park not far away. The villa itself is quite big, they have a nice garden where you can watch birds and squirrels. The foyer has some comfortable chairs. You can take water every time you want, since they have a filter system. All in all I really recommend staying at Olu, I enjoyed the beginning of my Sri Lanka trip here very much!!

Not really much to add here. May be more natural ventilation to the bathroom would help as it can get very hot in there.

The property is located in walking distance to the prime Colombo parts. Since its located close to embassies and other government buildings, security is not a concern. I walked back after a night out at 1am and did not feel vulnerable. Dev, the owner of the property made me feel very much at home before I even arrived. She is a fountain of so much knowledge about where to get bits and pieces. Her assistant who looks after the property for her is more than willing to help and guide. Olu will be my go to place next time I am in Colombo.

This is a superb and elegant villa in a quiet neighbourhood, with squirrels running in the garden, and a 20-min walk from the National museum. My room was simple and clean, with a comfortable double bed. The staff is friendly, responsive and helpful. Communication with them was smooth and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money.

I had to sleep in one bed with my friend. I book two beds but on the place I got information that another room is not good because bathroom is broken or something. We were so tired that we just took what they give us. But I think they should inform us before we came there.

Good location and a friendly host. This is more of a homestay booking, with the host providing ensuite rooms inside their own property. It worked for us as it was our final night in Sri Lanka before going to the airport.

There are few local eateries so you will have to plan accordingly. But this is nothing that cannot be easily fixed with a short hop in transportation.

Located in a quiet residential setting, the villa is a perfect way to escape the noise of Colombo city. The whole building was clean and immaculate. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Just across the main road, there's a handy Cargill's supermarket. The location Arcade Independence Square also makes for an easy landmark to direct tuk tuk drivers when there is a language barrier at play.

Low after pressure in shower.

Really nice spotlessly clean and comfortable. Aircon great, AJ could not do enough to help, made us a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast of spiced chick peas. Pot of tea so delicious, best ever. Downside, water pressure in shower poor. It was a bit rainy, we would have liked a TV with streaming service. Location was nice for local walking in area, tree lined streets and it was very quiet. But it is out of the way from the main city area, about 15-20mi by tuk tuks depending on traffic and time of day. Limited choice of restaurant and bars nearby. That said we enjoyed a very comfortable stay with very friendly wonderful people.

The owner Devumi is most helpful and friendly. She is caring and attentive. I arrived after midnight and she arranged a driver to pick me up from the airport. I feel at home and happy. It is located next to BMICH in a nice neighborhood. Good value.

While this homestay provided the worst breakfast we had in a month travel, the breakfast leaves much to be desired. There was a noticeable absence of juice, fruit, cereal, yogurt, cheese, croissants, or even honey, making it quite disappointing. Moreover, the lack of napkins was inconvenient. The accommodation itself featured a broken bathtub with a large, hazardous hole and mold aroundt. Overall, considering the conditions, it was not worth the money. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful.
