United KingdomThe cabana had a power socket that did not work and was shooting sparks which is dangerous. Getting to reception can involve walking through a muddy path when it has rained which is not good for suitcases (but afterwards someone takes your luggage to the accommodation in a wheelbarrow.) The restaurant staff were quite incompetent and often forgot orders or simple things. Food also takes a long time - 45 minutes - even for simple things like battered prawns or banana pancakes. They also seemed to play the same UB40 playlist on repeat every night. The wifi in the room did not initially work but after a few attempts connected. There is a Whatsapp number you can message with questions or issues but they do not always respond or take several hours. My booking said the room came with a bath but it did not have a bath. The pool was nice but does not seem to be very clean. When I swam in it I could not smell any chlorine and I did not see anyone cleaning it after several children used it. The next day I had an infection that needed antibiotics but this could just be a coincidence.
The resort is vast and has lots of wildlife around. You are right next to the river and there are lots of seats to sit on. The restaurant is reasonably priced and they have a large choice of food and drink. The cabana was nice and the bed was comfortable enough.

NetherlandsThe 'oriental breakfast' had to be ordered at least 45 minutes prior to the time you wanted to enjoy it. My advice to the GM was to indicate it in the menu card in order to avoid disappointment. Most of the waiters in the restaurant don't speak English. They try, some succeed, but others fail in communication and to understand what a guest really need. The mosquito net above the double bed is small to cover the entire area.
The welcome fruit drink is good. The staff, including the security guard, is friendly and helpful. The front desk does speak English. The restaurant area is welcoming and well designed. The large garden around the main building is well maintained. The swimming pool is excellent.

Sri LankaThe food was the least impressive part of the experience. Given the richness of East coast cuisine, it is a shame that it has not been properly explored and represented in the menu's offerings. Something as simple as a dosa was not authentic by any means. I feel it would be a good idea to redesign the menu and have limited offerings that are served at a high quality. Draw inspiration from dishes that are specific to the region. This can be done while allowing for vegan and gluten free options. There is so much potential here that could completely elevate the experience.
The property itself is vast and beautiful. The view of the lagoon is immaculate, especially at sunset. The beach is also close by which is great.

United KingdomThe food is good, but takes ages to prepare (45mins to an hour at best), so book in advance and then go and do something else while you wait. We nearly fell asleep waiting for dinner.
Large, spread-out complex by the lagoon. Good pool. We had a family room that was spacious and clean, although a little dated. Some of the units with lagoon views looked lovely (we were in a building set back from the front). Very friendly, helpful staff.

Very nice resort inside a coconut forest along the laguna with quite (and almost desert) sourrundings. Nice bungalow and rooms, fantastic pool with jacuzzi available for free. They organized a extra fee boat tour (8500 lkr for 4 people, 1 hour) at night to hear the singing fish in the laguna

SingaporeAll feels quite tired - the rooms are very dated and in need of a significant refresh. Clearly they have heard feedback on speed of service in restaurant and ask you to order in advance; but the ordering process is quite confusing and a lot gets lost in translation!

Huge, beatiful natural garden right on the lagoon. The swimming pool is a great place to end the day after a long sweaty day, with great sunset views. Bicycles are available for rent at the hotel. And the greatest bonus - it has the best restaurant in town.

A quirky hotel that we really enjoyed staying at, the swimming pool is in a fantastic location for sunset swims over the lagoon. The staff gave us a WiFi booster to put in the room as we were a little far away from the main router. The restaurant had a great system where you could order your food for a specific time which worked really well, good selection of beer and the room was large and clean. It feels more than a 2 star hotel.
