A friendly and serviceminded staff made this stay great. In the morning you can swim with turtles before you eat a top breakfast buffet. Quit and nice in the evening and during the night.

The stairs were quite steep

Loved this hotel its right on the beach & the food was the best we had in Sri Lanka, Sudtorma (?) was our waiter & looked after us like family & Lipul & Dahlargaya (?) in the bar were always there when a cocktail was needed ! To top it off having dinner on the beach on our last night a turtle came right up to us to lay her eggs ,one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. 100% recommend staying here.

Nothing, everything was good.

The location is perfect, right on the most beautiful beach and just a short distance to the main beach of Mirissa. We spotted turtles most days. The food here is very good especially the buffet breakfast. The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us.

Walking up to Mirissa Bay you are on the main road without footpath- busses hurtle past.

We loved lying in the shade of the trees- so close to both the sea and the bar. Rooms are clean and comfortable for the 1 star rating. Across the road is Mirissa Inn - probably the best meal we had in 2.5 weeks travelling Sri Lanka. Get up at sunrise to see the fishing boats go out.

Fabulous location, we could not get any closer to the beach. Our accommodation was amazing as was the seafood feast for two we had. We had breakfast, lunch & dinner at the resort & all meals were so well presented & tasted as good as they looked.

We had an amazing stay at Turtle Bay Resort! The hotel is located right on the beach and separated from the main beach but close enough to walk or a short tuktuk-ride. They have two houses, we paid a bit extra to stay at the top floor in the wooden house and the room was super nice with stunning panorama view of the ocean and we dont regret that at all. It was all very clean an cosy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also make delicious dishes at the restaurant and the prices are very affordable. The beach in front of the hotel is really nice and not over crowded. In mornings and evenings you can see local fishermen in their boats. We also saw turtles twice when snorkeling which was pretty cool. If we ever go back to Mirissa we will absolutley stay at Turtle Bay resort again, thank you!

Our room was right above the restaurant, witch is straight on the sand, in front of the beach. The staff was perfect, everyone was really kind and polite and the food was really good. We advice it to everyone.

The location is AMAZING! It's literally on a small and beautiful beach, in a bay that's full of turtles. All day long people were snorkeling to see them! The water was gorgeous, though a little rough because it's the Indian Ocean. The food was really good though very free options for vegetarians. The Sri Lankan food was fantastic! Service was wonderful, they are really helpful with everything. Several other places are just a short walk away, down the beach or up on the road. They only took cash when we were there, so heads up!

The new seafront building sits right above the restaurant and for whatever reason is has no insulation against noise or vibration. That means you can hear every noise from the restaurant below and people walking in the room above actually make your bed vibrate. The restaurant did not play any music and hosts no parties so it was not a dealbreaker, but at this price (which is very expensive for Sri Lanka) we would have expected a bit more building quality. . If you want to do laundry just bring it to a nearby service yourself, the hotel charges at least twice the normal prices. Also if you pay cash and they convert USD into LKR you better check the conversion rate, in our case they tried to give us a very bad rate, not the actual one of the day.

Turtle bay consist of two quite different parts. A new wooden seafront building with 3 rather big rooms (rather junior suites), the deluxe rooms. And an older part in a building set back a bit with about 8 standard rooms. We stayed in a deluxe room with a large balcony to the sea and the room was very nice. Quite new, very spacious, probably the most spacious bathroom in all of Sri Lanka, everything we needed. . The exact location between Coconut Hill, Turtle beach and Parrot Rock is the best location you can get in all of Mirissa. A beautiful secluded beach right in front of the building, but just a short walk to the more busy main beach if you look for restaurants and party. . We had dinner at the restaurant one night which was average, breakfast was very good though.

The hotel is on the beach fine with your toes in the sand. Food was excellent and staff were amazing and made me feel so welcome like staying with family. They offered me sun lounger and snorkels at no charge swimming and snorkeling before breakfast just gorgeous

The price of the room ($130) seems to be a bit ambitious and the price of the seafood platter ($46,30) would have seen Warren Buffet scrambling for the next KFC.

Nice and helpful people. The beautiful bay just in front of the hotel is sheltered from high waves by a reef and a large barrier of rocks. The narrow beach is about 80m long and submerged during high tide. The place can get a bit crowded then. Other beaches are nearby.

This place was just the best! We had such a great time. Our rooms were clean and spacious - and beautifully designed - very wooden and authentic. We stumbled downstairs to the restaurant which served great food. And then we stumbled 5 metres further and we’re swimming with turtles! Mirissa has changed over the years and is much more commercial than it used to be. This place is tucked around the corner, and is much more authentic Sri Lanka. And the people were just fabulous - they made us feel so welcome and looked after us so well (and made an extra effort with the kids). We’ll definitely be back, thanks so much.

Needed a fridge in the room. Some rooms did, ours didn’t

Couldn’t ask for a better location, everyday out front turtles, free sun beds, to the right hundreds of beautiful fish. Staff were so polite, could’t do enough for you. Excellent choice of food and they had a pizza oven, we’re everyday fresh bread was prepped, inc cakes…. You could watch the young guy prepare all the dough to bake. Room nice and big, mosquito nets, clean bedding every few days and towels. Will definitely recommend to our friends and will go back.

The location was excellent, it is right on the beach next to turtle bay where you can do snorkelling and see the turtles. The service was fantastic and we were looked after very well by the team, special shout to Sasank and the rest of the team for making our holiday memorable!

Super friendly host who is more than willing to help- be it arranging rides, or planning an itinerary. They are always there to help you out and serve you with a smile that makes you feel home😇. Bonus point... Places like coconut tree hill and Parrot rock are just a stone throw away. Definitely recommend.

What a privilege to be able to swim with turtles every morning in a beautiful bay. The rooms are big with good AC and good bathroom and right on the beach. The staff are really attentive and supportive. The beach has a great range of free sun beds and snorkelling equipment.

Could be a little bit more clean everywhere

The staff was really great always friendly and tried to make everything possible. Especially the room man (think Bidul) was very nice and brought me my shoes that I have forgotten at the apartment. Breakfast was great. Snorkeling with the turtles in the morning before breakfast was awesome. 🤗

They did not accept credit card payments. This can become a little inconvenient if you are not prepared.

The staff were fantastic! Truly lovely people who were very helpful and accommodating. Location was fantastic with an excellent beach right outside the room. And yes there are Turtles! Room was clean, the AC was cold and the water just hot enough. Wifi was also very good. No TV in the room but this was not an issue for me.
