Great place to stay, situated within easy walking distance of the centre (despite the hill). Great views over the lake and temple, adding to the pleasure of breakfast, which were very good also. Staff were so friendly and accommodating which really enhanced the pleasure of the stay. The room was expansive and who doesn't want a large balcony with a beautiful vista?

not licenced !!! this was NOT mentioned in the information and whilst not a major problem as you could but it from outside and bring it in - it would be good to tell people this. the food took a long time to arrive when we ate here and was wrong on two occasions so had to be reheated and sent back. this was done but it was a very long process. not enough staff who were empowered to make decisions. they had to defer to the ‘ manager’ on every request who was the only person who spoke another language. difficulty

The place is really beautiful and the views are superb, looking to the lake. Room is very spacious and comfortable, the bathroom is great. The breakfast is also very good, you have two options: continental and Sri Lankan (my husband tried the second one and was super satisfied, you can choose spicy or not). Is super well located, 10min walk from the Sacred Tooth Temple, actually you can see the temple from the room as it's on the other side of the lake. The only thing that I would mention is that is not very accessible by car, you have to walk 100m up, totally doable, I was 6m pregnant and was ok, but maybe not suited for everyone. We didn't ask but could be that there is the possibility to go by TukTuk.

The view of the lake is astonishing! It really has the feel of a luxury townhouse which is very different from other places in Kandy. They packed my breakfast in mini boxes since I left early in the mornings for adventure.

The hotel is very central, but can only be reached via a very steep road. From the balcony we had a great view over the lake. The breakfast was incredible. The best one during our whole trip. Unfortunately, both behind the hotel and in front are currently construction sites. It is very noisy, even the street can be heard. But at night it is very quiet.

Steep hill and steps leading to property.. lunch box prepared for the train was dry, sandwiches had a very small amount of egg filling resulting in them being quite dry. Fruit provided was great.

Would have been good, and maybe also very normal…, with a bedside-table lamp. And some blinds to create a bit more darkness in the morning. Also sad that so few women seem to work at hotels in Sri Lanka.

Parking is tight (and up a steep, narrow 'driveway' of sorts) for anyone driving to the location.

The location is great, just a few minute walk to the temple, market, and train station, and it has a nice view of the lake/temple area. The room itself was very nice... spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and we ate dinner here one night, and that was a great meal as well. But the best part was the staff, especially Nalin, who really helped us with some communication barriers on the next step of our trip. Truly a great property!

The lodge is in an excellent location with a gorgeous view on Kandy lake. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings, clean and comfy. The staff are very helpful also, serve a good breakfast.

only one thing. tourists are here to have a rest and enjoy holiday where they can sleep more than at home. but no one can sleep if a guy is sweeping the floor every freaking morning at 6 am! it’s really loud as if he would cleaning the floor next to our bed… at first I told him to finish but since he doesn’t speak English I showed by hands not to do and to go away, we would love to sleep. he went away and came back 5minutes later…. and in the following 2 days he did the same. it’s just crazy…..

the manager deserves a 5*, he is really kind and listening to every request. he pays attention for everyone and react immediately if needed. ( e.g.; local food vs continental one - if you have a problem he is there in a second)

This was ideal for our one night in Kandy. Walking distance from the train station (beware of the hills) and walkable around the lake to visit key sites or good restaurants nearby. Rooms were modern and clean. Breakfast was also great, we had a refillable stack of hoppers.

the only thing we wish they didn’t do was burn trash right on the property. that was probably not a good welcome view and smell. but I’m sure it’s not standard practice.

It was tucked away but close enough to Kandy center. the owner was very helpful with all of our questions and with organizing taxi and tickets for train when our original plans foiled. very lovely, kind and friendly staff. breakfast was fantastic. rooms are comfortable and spacious and balcony is a lovely feature. we really enjoyed our stay and are happy with our choice especially since there are 1400 properties around Kandy.
