The location is absolutely amazing! Very close to the city centre with great views on the lake. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and a very nice balcony with great views. Both dinner and breakfast were very good! I would highly recommend staying in SWP Eco lodge.

A ridiculously steep hill which the car struggled to climb about 1 in 5. This steep hill would not be suitable for people with mobility problems and my wife was unable to walk up it. This steep hill would be difficult to climb down without good walking shoes or if it was wet Owner did provide tuc-tuck on departure for bags to be taken down to the car. Should be noted on advertisement with booking.com

the room was huge! a villa to be exact. location right next to the lake, walking distance to the temple. rooftop restaurant has a nice and romantic atmosphere. staff are very welcoming and helpful

Only the continental breakfast was available during our stay (rather than Sri Lankan), which was a bit disappointing.

We only stayed one night but had a very nice time. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice view of the lake. And the location is excellent, just a 10min walk to a food market and 15mins to the main temple.

View, Location, Room, Architecture were all exceptional. Highly recommended. Short steep hill to climb to get to hotel, but that is what provides the wonderful lake view. Short walk to town and markets, and tooth temple a reasonable walk, also. Nice a la carte breakfast either Sri Lankan or western. Staff were all very nice and professional.

When checking out they automatically add in a 10% service charge for your stay which is too much considering the cost already. Shouldn’t be allowed or at the very least you should be made aware at the time of booking.

- The steepness level to get to the property was much worse than I expected from reading previous reviews. For me with intermediate knee issues, this put a lot of strain on them and I was in bad pain for several days after. Not the hotels fault just wish I knew about it before booking. Majority of Tuk tuks can go up and down, only had issues with one Tuk Tuk that couldn’t make it with that steepness. -inside of the rooms did not look as nice as the pictures, pretty outdated with major cracks on the walls. Because of this I would say value for money is on the lower end and would likely choose a cheaper alternative next time.

Great hotel, ideally located across the Temple, 5min away. The deck has an amazing view over the lake looking at the temple. We enjoyed a very good dinner and delicious breakfast there. The room was big with beautiful view. We recommend !

We had a great stay - it felt like great value for money and I don't have any complaints!

We had a really nice stay in Kandy. The room was lovely with an amazing view of the lake. It's a short walk into town so it's in a great location. The staff were incredibly helpful - they organised a lovely vegan breakfast for us and organised for us to be taken to Kandy train station for free. We only stayed for one night but could have stayed longer.
