Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had the lucky experience of staying 2 nights in the W15 Lake Gregory. It is a boutique hotel and a perfect escape if you're looking for peace and tranquility. Given the smaller set up compared to most hotels, the hospitality is uncomparable. There is always someone available, very welcoming and with smiles. A standout 10/10 experience, that I would highly recommend to anyone is the cooking class! My partner and I had chef Mano teaching us how to cook local dishes. Outside of the cooking class, when we first arrived the team helped us with our laundry and shared what types of activities we could do in the vacinity. In the two days we've: - Cycled around the lake, it's a perfect 5km loop. It's a lovely jog too. - There's a swimming pool as part of the hotel to cool off. - Rented a speed boat on the lake, there's a fair amount of birds for those that like to take pictures of local wildlife. - Horse Riding, there are loads of horses in the vicinity that you can pet. - Board games, badminton raquets etc.

Exceptional service. The staff are well trained and execute all elements flawlessly. Breakfast was incredible (poached crab eggs Benedict). Bed was amazing. Location was outstanding with fantastic views of wild horses grazing and people enjoying the lake.

IrelandAbsolutely fantastic place to stay. Probably one of the best places I have ever stayed. The staff were so accommodating and friendly from start to finish. The room was spotlessly clean, had all amenities and was beautifully designed. The front garden to which we had access from our rooms was a lovely place to relax in the evening. We had our evening meal in the hotel because we thought it would be extra special because of how luxury the place was when we arrived and we were right. The food was superb. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful as well. Due to the area having a cooler climate to other parts of the island they even provided us with a hot water bottle before bed. The room also had a superb tea selection. I will most definitely be recommending this accommodation to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

Cannot recommend this place enough. It's the most cozy, wonderful and calm hotel experience I've had in Sri Lanka. The team is working tirelessly to help you with anything you might need. The cooking is excellent (I had the Sri Lankan curry) for dinner. Would definitely comeback here if I ever return!

United KingdomThe rooms are not very soundproof.
A luxurious little hotel, right on the shores of the lake. We had two rooms overlooking the lake and had a little shared terrace in front (rear rooms may be different). Gorgeous, comfy beds, and the best bathrooms on our trip! We had a fabulous breakfast every day. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The location was perfect - away from the bustle of the town, but within walking distance of the sites and some relaxed restaurants. Lovely hikes in the hills, and nearby the many tea plantations, and the racecourse.

Everything about this property is amazing. It truly is a hidden gem in Nuwara Eliya. Situated slightly outside the town, which makes it feel secluded and private while at the same time very walkable to the town. The staff are beyond attentive and accommodating. The property is really beautiful and well kept, it has a peaceful atmosphere. The food was delicious too. Highly recommend staying here!

MaldivesOne of the best places in Nuwaraeliya. I suggest not to waste anytime on those big hotels. You wont get the quality service that you get in these places. Excellent view. Nice rooms. Extremely clean. If you ever go to this place, please try the break fast. Chef there is on another level. And very friendly.

We stayed for two nights! It's a small chique boutique hotel right in front Gregory Lake. They only have a few rooms which made the stay very unique. Rooms a huge and beds are spacious. They bring you a hot water bottle before nighttime which was really cozy. The staff was very lovely and forthcoming without being indiscreet or intrusive! They arranged a driver to bring us to Horton Plains at 5 am and provided us with a Picknick to go which was just perfect! They even went beyond and above and served us tea beforehand. They don't do buffets just menu a la carte en demand and they use a lot of vegetables from their own garden, which we found very environmentally friendly. Bathrooms were the best in Sri Lanka, hot water from a solar system, very clean (European standard clean). They have a selection of loose teas you can brew in your room which was very unique. Perfect pick for a stay in Nuwara Eliya!
